The Airspace Mobility Solutions (AMS) business, part of the Global Business Unit Land and Air Systems, is providing leading edge Air Traffic Management (ATM), Unmanned Traffic Management (UTM), Security and Digital Aviation solutions for the Commercial and Defence sectors.
The AMS business manages 11% of the world’s airspace and with revenues of over 500 million Euros worldwide, is the global market leader in airspace management solutions. In Singapore, the business focus is the delivery and support of two key ATM solutions including TopSKY-ATC(HE) and LORADS-III.
This role will initially support the LORADS-III program.
ROLE DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
The Senior Network Engineer is responsible for the design and implementation of network solutions for the respective ATM project and/or bid activity.
KEY ACTIVITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
As a Sr. Network Engineer, you are accountable for:
- Develop or update solution architecture drawings and diagrams, cost templates (devis), the List of Supply (LOS) / Bill of Materials (BOM), and interfaces at the start of the project.
- Develop or update network contributions to the Solution Specification and Design documentation, Network Acceptance Test Procedures, and other associated network integration documents.
- Define equipment configuration for the ATM solution(s) and coordinate with Hardware Deployment and Integration management for assembly of the ATM system and interface with Tools Engineering, Customer Service and Site Services departments where necessary to accomplish this task.
- Load, configure, validate, and hand over equipment to Software Integration in the factory and on customer sites.
- Support configuration changes to system platforms in factory and customer sites.
- Proactively support Project Design Reviews.
- Provide customer training.
- Identify risks at solution architecture level and propose where possible alternate validated solutions.
- Provide system and networking expertise.
- Follow and contribute to the development and enhancement of engineering processes.
In a leadership capacity, provide support to Work Package Manager:
- Develop and maintain objectives, strategy and roadmap.
- Ensure that deliveries (including associated documentation and engineering artefacts) are on time (as per schedule and milestones) with the expected level of compliance.
- Contribute to key milestones and provide input into triage and change boards.
- Track team progression against the agreed plan, provide task estimation and forecasting as input into the weekly status dashboard.
- Identify risks and propose mitigation solutions.
- Relay key communications to team through daily/weekly team meetings.
Responsibilities to the team:
- Main point of contact for the team on functional or technical topics, or knows who to contact.
- Performs allocation and prioritisation of tasks for the team.
- Responsible for the quality of the team's outputs, including compliance to the configuration management process.
KEY KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
To be successful in your role, you will have demonstrated and/or acquired the following knowledge and experience:
Qualifications
- Degree in Engineering, IT or related discipline.
- Cisco formal certifications (CCNP, CCNA etc).
Essential Experience
- 5+ years experience in similar positions on projects delivering complex software-centric real-time systems.
- Proven experience in leading small teams.
- Demonstrated experience in the design of infrastructure and network architectures.
- Demonstrated experience in the design of network architectures in line with security standards and policies.
- Sound level of knowledge and experience with Unix/Linux (Redhat distribution preferred) Operating System.
- Familiarity with a wide range of Computer and Networking hardware (preferably Cisco).
- Scripting (TCL/TK, Perl, & Shell).
- Able to work on multiple activities concurrently and effectively self-manage (autonomy).
- Experience with collective decisions and conflict resolutions.
- Capability to manage various stakeholders having different objectives.
- Proven capability to work in a multi-cultural environment and with a variety of international customers.
- Aptitude to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary integrated team environment.
- A positive attitude combined with excellent interpersonal and motivational skills.
- Sound judgement and independent decision-making capability where necessary.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
Desirable:
- Work experience in a mission-critical, near real-time environment preferably ATC-related.
- Experience in large and distributed networked computer systems.
- Experience in working in a Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe).
- French Literacy.
