SPED Teacher Assistant

We have a vacancy for a SPED Teacher Assistant to support children with moderate to severe special needs. This is NOT a full-time job. Working hours are fixed from Monday to Friday, 9:00AM to 1:30PM (23 hours per week).

Role & Responsibilities

• Assist the teacher to support the children where needed
• Help the teacher to set up the classroom to facilitate lessons
• Prepare resources as instructed by teachers
• Clean teaching aids and resources; sterilise toys/resources
• Maintain a safe, neat and clean environment
• Support children during snack time, grooming and toileting
• Carry out other tasks as assigned by the teacher

Qualifications & Experience

• Prefer at least 5 O level credits
• Certificate in Special Education or a related field is an advantage
• Up to 3 years experience working with children with special needs is an advantage
• Applicants with no experience will be considered if candidate demonstrates a strong interest to work with children with special needs
• Good communication skills
• Patient and understanding when working with children with special needs

Salary: Monthly rated. Range is $900 - 1300.
