What's the role?

The Market Specialists team support our Sales teams serving as subject matter experts within Bloomberg. On any given day in this role, you will be consulting with senior decision makers at client accounts, helping to close new sales opportunities, and providing critical feedback to help shape the development of our tools and services with the product management teams.

The Market Specialists are comprised of a broad spectrum of individuals with varying backgrounds and skills with experience from the buy-side, sell-side, as well as market and industry participants. The team's core responsibility is to heighten our user base’s experience and impact sales revenue, while also improving the knowledge of our sales force and providing client feedback for our product development teams.

We'll trust you to:

  1. Utilise your strong market experience, detailed knowledge of industry trends, and demonstrated technical skills to drive revenue opportunities across our suite of solutions.
  2. Act in an advisory capacity to our clients around the challenges that they face, and how they can use our products and technology to solve them.
  3. Develop an in-depth understanding of the competitor landscape and how this affects both internal and external customers.
  4. Influence the direction of Bloomberg products through thought leadership, contribution of innovative ideas, and establishing relationships between Bloomberg's decision makers and our clients.
  5. Develop and establish your own roadmap of initiatives based on your in-depth understanding of markets, tools, and workflows that align with product, sales, and company goals.
  6. Participate actively in new projects that drive departmental and firm-wide initiatives and goals.
  7. Seek out additional ways to make an impact, such as mentoring, involvement in training, running campaigns, and active involvement in product enhancement.

You'll need to have:

  1. Minimum 7 years of client-facing experience in Financial Services or a Financial Technology company.
  2. Minimum 5 years' experience of Equity Derivatives in a sales, trading, or research capacity.
  3. Experience leading senior level client conversations gained within the past 5 years.
  4. The ability to convey complex ideas and solutions in a simple and concise way to audiences both large and small.
  5. Strong communication skills to credibly lead senior level client conversations, gain insight into clients' enterprise workflow, and promote Bloomberg solutions.
  6. The business insight required to use your knowledge and experience to make good judgement and quick decisions to impact the commercial success of our business.
  7. A reciprocal and commercial approach, along with the ability to operate within both departmental and company-wide initiatives, in a non-hierarchical structure without corporate titles.
  8. Willingness to travel regularly across ASEAN.
  9. Excellent presentation, training, and communication skills in English.
  10. Demonstrated continuous career growth within an organisation.
  11. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualifications.
