Solar Engineer

Job Summary

RPRE’s focus is on helping off-grid clients reduce their dependence on fossil fuels such as Diesel by switching to Renewable sources of Energy. As a Solar / Electrical Engineer at RPRE, you will join the engineering team in designing and installing primarily Hybrid Solutions (Solar, Batteries, Genset) for our clients.

Roles and Responsibilities

1. Installation, testing, operation, maintenance, and repair of systems and equipment at site.
2. Conducting site feasibility studies and assisting with site surveying for PV layouts, building measurements, solar trajectory, shading, and power output calculations.
3. Performing electrical designs and calculations including AC and DC cable sizing, voltage drop, over-current protection, Arc-Fault and Ground-Fault protection, grounding system design, metering, and other design elements.
4. Utilizing design and performance modelling tools such as PVSyst to support proposals.
5. Evaluating system performance components including voltage drop, power loss, and circuit length.

Requirements

1. Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering / Power Engineering.
2. Up to 3 years working experience in Electrical or Power Engineering. Fresh Graduates are welcomed to apply.
3. Experience with utilizing Helioscope, PVSyst or HOMER Pro.
4. Experience with AutoCAD and electrical line drawing.
5. Understanding of Solar Photovoltaic and Battery Storage Systems.
6. Mechanical knowledge of solar mounting systems.
7. Willingness to travel around SE Asia (10% of time) with some overnight stays required.
