Software Engineer II, Reliability & Support

As a Software Engineer II at JPMorgan Chase within the Corporate & Investment Bank - Test Integration & Implementation (TII) Payments Technology Testing team, you serve as a seasoned member of an agile team to design and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. You are responsible for carrying out critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm's business objectives.

Job Responsibilities

1. Executes software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems.
2. Supports application and infrastructure non-production environments.
3. Produces architecture and design artifacts for complex applications while being accountable for ensuring design constraints are met by software code development.
4. Gathers, analyzes, synthesizes, and develops visualizations and reporting from large, diverse data sets in service of continuous improvement of software applications and systems.
5. Proactively identifies hidden problems and patterns in data and uses these insights to drive improvements to coding hygiene and system architecture.
6. Contributes to software engineering communities of practice and events that explore new and emerging technologies.
7. Adds to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect.

1. Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems or related disciplines.
2. Minimum 2 years of experience in support function role.
3. Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
4. Proficient in coding in one or more languages (Java and/or Python).
5. Demonstrated knowledge of applications or infrastructure in a large-scale technology environment both on premises and public cloud i.e. AWS.
6. Experience with ticketing systems, such as ServiceNow and Jira Service Desk.
7. Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with one or more modern programming languages and database querying languages.
8. Overall knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle.
9. Solid understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, Security, and working knowledge on monitoring and logging tools like Grafana, Splunk, Dynatrace, Datadog, etc.
10. Demonstrated knowledge of software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.).

1. Familiarity with modern front-end technologies.
2. Understanding of SRE and development knowledge on Python and Java.
3. Incident & Problem Management, Change Review and Approval Process.
