[What the role is] The Maritime Operations Planner within the Integrated Operations Hub (IOH) is responsible for utilizing predictive analytics and planning tools to optimize day-to-day maritime operations. This role focuses on forward-looking operational planning, incorporating data from multidomain sources such as satellite imagery, drone footage and open sources. The Operations Planner ensures that MPA’s port operations are efficient, compliant with regulations, and prepared for potential risks, while supporting the Operations Group in proactive decision-making and resource management.
[What you will be working on]
Operational Planning and Optimization: Develop and implement planning strategies that optimize resource allocation and port operations to maximize efficiency and minimize potential disruptions.
Predictive Analytics for Risk Management: Utilize predictive analytics to identify potential operational risks and scenarios, enabling proactive planning and timely adjustments to prevent incidents.
Digital Twin Technology Application: Apply digital twin technology to simulate different operational scenarios, supporting the IOH and Operations Group in decision-making and risk assessment.
Support for Maritime Traffic Management: Collaborate with the Operations Group to manage vessel traffic by providing planning insights and data-driven recommendations, enhancing navigational safety and efficiency.
Incident Response Planning: Assist the Operations Group in preparing and responding to maritime incidents by providing tactical planning support and coordinating resources for swift recovery.
Regulatory Compliance and Safety Assurance: Support the Operations Group to ensure that all operational plans align with regulatory compliance requirements, maritime safety standards, and environmental protection guidelines.
[What we are looking for]
Background in operations management, maritime studies, or a related field.
Relevant certifications in predictive analytics, risk management, or operational planning are advantageous.
3-5 years of experience in operations planning, preferably within the maritime, logistics, or transportation sectors.
Demonstrated experience with predictive analytics and operational planning tools to support resource allocation and incident management.
Familiarity with digital twin technology and its application to simulate scenarios and inform decision-making.
Candidate must be willing to work on rotating shifts.
Successful candidates will be offered a contract in the first instance and may be considered for an extension or be placed on a permanent appointment.
