Join The ASEAN Frontier as our Singapore Correspondent.
The ASEAN Frontier is a premier weekly newsletter delivering curated insights into the business, trade, economic policy, and international affairs shaping Southeast Asia. Our mission is to provide timely, accurate analysis of the forces driving the region’s growth and global influence.
We are now looking for a Singapore Correspondent to join our regional network of contributors. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a growing platform dedicated to covering the most important developments across ASEAN — and to gain real experience in regional analysis, writing, and editorial work.
Candidates must currently reside in Singapore.
What you will do:
- Write one article per week on key developments in Singapore, focusing on business, politics, economic policy, international affairs, and more.
- Peer-review and edit articles submitted by fellow correspondents covering other ASEAN countries.
- Contribute to shaping the editorial voice of a platform dedicated to ASEAN’s evolving landscape.
What you gain:
- This is an unpaid position; however, you gain:
- The opportunity to publish regularly and build a portfolio of professional, region-focused writing.
- Experience working with an international editorial team focused on ASEAN.
- Editorial feedback and mentorship to develop your writing and analysis.
- A front-row seat to Southeast Asia’s key developments, and a chance to be part of a startup community of regional analysts and writers.
What we’re looking for:
- Strong interest in Singapore's political, economic, and international affairs, within the ASEAN context.
- Excellent writing and research skills in English.
- Commitment to weekly writing and collaborative editorial work.
- Self-motivated and proactive, comfortable working remotely and independently.
- Background in journalism, international relations, political economy, or regional studies is a plus.
