The ServiceNow Developer focuses on the technical and logistical deployment and maintenance of cloud-based solutions that meet clients’ business needs – primarily developing ServiceNow modules and/or Web Services to exchange data between ServiceNow and other technology systems using software development best practices.
The ServiceNow Developer will receive directions from the ServiceNow Technical Lead or ServiceNow Technical Architect and will also be responsible for requirement scoping, tool configuration, solution development, and achieving technical milestones throughout the lifecycle.
The ServiceNow Developer can identify risks and report them in a timely manner, has good communication with the project team, and can work without constant direction or supervision.
Duties and Responsibilities
Design, develop, and implement Service Catalog workflows, ITIL processes, ITAM modules within the ServiceNow platform and integrations with external systems based on customer requirements.
Implement considering ServiceNow best practices and standards.
Review and refine designs for usability, review testing scenarios, and refine test cases to ensure application quality and work with users to review test results to ensure they meet expected results.
Provide 2nd/3rd level ServiceNow support, resolve incidents/enhancements/defects writing, debugging, and testing using a mix of JavaScript and server-side Java.
Produce and maintain detailed system documentation, including design specs, solutions proposed, unit testing, tech notes, etc.
Follow up on outstanding client needs and provide timely status reports to their lead.
Assist in the scoping of new opportunities and design tools and techniques to deliver efficiently.
Ensure each artifact produced, each configured technical component, and all personal interactions are of the highest quality.
Create templates for unique agency requirements, reports, dashboards, flows, and email notifications.
Required Qualifications and Experience
3+ years of experience is required.
Minimum 2 years of ServiceNow development experience is a must.
Currently holds the following valid ServiceNow certifications:
ServiceNow Certified System Administrator
ServiceNow Certified Application Developer
ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist – IT Service Management
