A new opportunity has arisen for a skilled Customer Support Service Engineer like you to oversee and bring expertise to our team.

As a Customer Support Service Engineer in mtu Singapore, you will primarily be responsible for engine overhaul, repair, and troubleshooting related tasks.

Rolls-Royce Power Systems is headquartered in Friedrichshafen in southern Germany and employs around 9,000 people. The product portfolio includes mtu-brand high-speed engines and propulsion systems for ships, power generation, heavy land, rail and defense vehicles, and for the oil and gas industry, as well as diesel and gas systems and battery containers for mission-critical, standby and continuous power, combined generation of heat and power, and microgrids.

Key Accountabilities

  • Perform installation, commissioning, routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair/overhaul of mtu engines and associated equipment at customer locations or in the workshop.
  • Independently manage field service jobs in accordance with work orders, ensuring quality standards and customer satisfaction.
  • Conduct system acceptance tests with customers or their representatives, including performance verification and documentation.
  • Diagnose and resolve mechanical or system-related issues efficiently and accurately.
  • Provide timely and detailed technical service reports, including investigation summaries and corrective actions taken.
  • Submit travel and job completion reports to document project milestones and service outcomes.
  • Maintain a high level of customer service and represent the MTU brand with professionalism.

Qualifications

  • Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Marine Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 2 – 3 years of hands-on experience in the diesel engine/generator industry is required.
  • Proven experience in servicing, troubleshooting, commissioning, and project execution.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with logical and analytical problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision and thrive as part of a collaborative team.
  • Willingness to travel locally and regionally as required.
  • Knowledge of MTU engines and systems is a strong advantage.
  • Familiarity with marine or power generation applications is preferred.
  • Ability to read technical drawings and schematics.
  • Comfortable working in field conditions and able to respond to service calls at short notice.
