Job description
Responsibilities:
Head of Regional Headquarter for Trade Management (US and EU Trade)
Leading the regional offices in South East Asia & Oceania Trade and Sales Team
Manage the key performance and risk indicators
Manage and support projects/ initiatives/ enhancement requests to ensure business and operation requirements, timeline and budget are met
Continuously collect market intelligence by analysing supply & demand, trends in shipping industry and effectively communicate the findings with Seoul HQ
Cultivate and maintain clear understanding of customer needs; continuously assess gaps and identify competitor products
Assess the competitive landscape and track competitive activity and dynamics through targeted market research, and ad-hoc situational analysis to inform the relevance of, and recommend changes to marketing and business development strategies
Deploy marketing strategy best practices for segmentation, targeting, and positioning to acquire and retain customers; define and deploy differentiating value offers, and go-to market strategies
Develop and recommend regional channels strategies that enable proposed market targeting and positioning
Work closely with sales and marketing teams in the region to track and manage sales revenue generation from all targeted customer groups
Perform competitive channel and pricing analysis to develop optimal regional pricing strategies
Define regional marketing programs required for demand generation and customer acquisition and retention
Coordinate the reconciliation of aggregated regional demand with financial forecasts for assigned product portfolio
Identify key regional demand trends and provide feedback to platform leadership on potential impact to global business performance and financial outcome
Monitor and report on effectiveness of marketing strategy execution, by leading the development and tracking relevant metrics and performance indicators
Ensure that budgets, schedules, and functional (Marketing) performance requirements are met
Investigate any discrepancies, exceptions and non-compliance, and take prompt action for rectification of any such unusual or exceptional activities
Liaise with Seoul Headquarter on updates and requirements for all functions
Intensive communications and providing reports to HQ in Seoul to set up market strategy
Provide input for annual/quarterly business planning process to Seoul HQ
Requirements:
Bachelor degree in relevant field
Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in Pricing & Trade Management, related to shipping carrier trade lane of America, Europe and Asia market
Experience in fixing big projects and broad knowledge of shipments to Korean Steel mills and power plants would be an added advantage
Strong leadership skill
Self-driven, dependable and able to take on responsibilities and challenges
Display good execution skill in implementing process and system changes
Effective communication skills with proficiency in writing and presentations
Proficient in English and Korean (both written and spoken)
Proficient in commonly used Shipping IT programs, and ability to constantly make enhancement suggestion to existing program for efficiency and effectiveness management
Strong analytical, systemic and problem solving skills, and possess the ability to deep dive into issues & details
Able to multi task and work under pressure
Providing support in achieving regional and department goals
