RESPONSIBILITIES

To assist Supervisor/Head in developing, maintaining and implementing effective training programme at the centre.

1. Leadership and Centre's Management

  1. Assist in deputizing the duties and responsibilities of the Head in his/her absence.
  2. Provide coaching and mentoring for the junior staff.
  3. Collaborate with the Head and Supervisor in the overall centre's programme and staff development.

2. MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (80%)

2.1 Programme Management & Development

  1. Keeps abreast and share new training methodology and introduce innovative programmes to the centre.
  2. Ensure the adherence of assessment, monitoring and evaluation of the training programme under their respective programme tracts.
  3. Coach the staff in conducting training sessions for the healthy development of trainees in the area of sensory awareness and sexual relationships.
  4. Keeps abreast of legal developments pertaining to the trainees' well-being.
  5. Actively engages the trainees' families in the implementation of individual training programme.
  6. Supervise and manage disciplinary and motivational plans of trainees.
  7. Survey the international arena for new developments and interventions for the holistic development of the trainees.
  8. Plan and monitor trainees' health; safety and security management plans.

2.2 Administrative & Operations

  1. Monitor and ensure smooth operation of the overall TDC management and programmes.
  2. Provide consultation for programme logistics management.
  3. Monitor and measure programme outcomes.
  4. Check and ensure proper documentation of trainees' case management and intervention programmes and activities.

2.3 Vocational & Employment Development

  1. Facilitate the development of vocational training plan for the respective programme tracts.
  2. Monitor and measure vocational training programme outcomes.
  3. Identify and plan preparatory training for trainees suitable for Internal Integration Programme (IIP) / Open Employment.
  4. Provide consultation for implementation of community mobility training evaluation of training programme.
  5. Preparatory training for open employment for trainees.
  6. Implement Community Mobility Training.

2.4 Event Management

  1. Explore new avenues for activities promoting inclusion in the community.
  2. Coordinate inclusion activities for trainees.
  3. Coordinate internal events and activities for trainees.
  4. Network and support external agencies that organize events for trainees.

2.5 Volunteer Management & Public Education

  1. Network with various agencies and corporations for sponsorships and support for the development of the trainees.
  2. Proactive in engaging community resources and enhance public awareness of the organization and client group.
  3. Provide public education.
  4. Monitor and evaluate volunteer involvement programmes.

2.6 Financial & Inventory Management

  1. Provide information to support the Head or Manager in his/her budget planning for the respective programmes.
  2. Inventory management of the Centre.
  3. Building and estate management.

3. SECONDARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (20%)

Staff will be assigned to at least one of the following duties:

3.1 Building and Maintenance

  1. To attend to request by staff on minor repairs and maintenance.
  2. To report to Head of Centre for any repairs.
  3. To attend immediately to any major and urgent repairs.
  4. To maintain and improve the physical environment of the Centre.
  5. To assist other staff in construction and/or improvement of the work area.

3.2 Occupational Health Safety /Work Place Safety Centre Safety and Security

  1. To look into the safety aspects of the centre/clients/staff.
  2. To ensure the rooms/doors/windows/power points are properly shut and locked at the end of the day/week.
  3. To ensure that safety rules, regulations and procedures are observed.
  4. To ensure safety management procedures are in place and are in operation.
  5. To plan, execute and record fire drill procedures twice yearly.
  6. To maintain general cleanliness of the Centre.
  7. To maintain hygiene standards for meal preparations.
  8. To ensure that meals are well balanced and of nutritional value.
  9. To provide inventory control and replenishment of first aid items on a quarterly basis.
  10. To update staff on first aid information and emergency procedures.
  11. To organize and update first aid training for staff.

3.3 Sports Events/Special Olympics

  1. To represent Centre in any sports and related activities.
  2. To record and take stocks of sports equipment and recommend new purchases.
  3. To organize sports activities for the Centre.
  4. To recruit and train new clients for sports events.
  5. To plan regular sports training program throughout the year.
  6. To document sports and training programs.

3.4 Festivities

  1. To organize festival celebrations for the centre.
  2. To propose and apply budget through Centre Head.

3.5 Camps

  1. To organize annual camp for the centre.
  2. To propose and apply budget through Centre Head.

3.6 Clients' Year End Party

  1. To organize clients' year end party.
  2. To propose and apply budget through Centre Head.

3.7 Clients' Annual Picnic

  1. To organize clients' annual picnic.
  2. To propose and apply budget through Centre Head.

3.8 IT/AVA

  1. To represent Centre in the IT sub-committee and any IT related meetings.
  2. To report to Head of Centre for any computer faults and repairs.
  3. To attend to request by staff on minor computer issues/problems.
  4. To train staff to attain minimum computer and audio-visual product knowledge.
  5. To conduct regular IT programs for clients.
  6. To document, maintain, recommend and improve IT materials and AVA equipment.

3.9 Health Champion and Staff Welfare

  1. To represent Centre and organize programs/activities for the well being of staff.
  2. To look into the welfare of staff.

3.10 Centre Transport Duties

  1. To ensure safety procedures are adhered to in respect to alighting and boarding of buses by our clients upon arrival and departing from the centre.
  2. Staff on bus duties are to account for all clients arriving and departing from the centre.

3.11 Case/Health Referrals and Reviews

  1. To vet through all case/health referrals and reviews.
  2. To ensure that information provided are accurate and comprehensive.
  3. To upload reviews and health referrals into centre's shared folder.

3.12 Any other duties allocated by the Head of Centre

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Minimum GCE ‘O' Levels/Diploma Holders
OTHER INFORMATION
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Computer literacy skills MS Words, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Passion to work with people with intellectual disabilities
