Senior / Technician, Endoscopy(7721)

Overview*

Reporting to the Nurse Managers of the Endoscopy Centre, you are responsible for the setting up, performing functional checks, and maintaining proper documentation on all Endoscopy Diagnostic and Audio-Visual Equipment.

Job Responsibilities*

You will be responsible for the following:

1. Ensure Endoscopic equipment is checked prior to usage.
2. Perform setup and functional checks of all Endoscopy Diagnostic Equipment.
3. Ensure cleanliness and working condition of the suction and diathermy machines.
4. Perform functional checks on the Endoscopic Camera System and console to ensure it is in good working condition.
5. Maintain integrity of sterile instruments and scopes for use on Endoscopy patients.
6. Ascertain and troubleshoot any equipment malfunctions, failures, and technical difficulties.
7. Provide necessary technical support during equipment failures and collaborate with the Biomedical Engineer of NUH for any technical problems needing further attention.
8. Coordinate and liaise with the Biomedical Engineer of NUH for the installations and commissioning of new Endoscopy Diagnostic Equipment and/or equipment for trial.
9. Follow up on all repairs and schedule preventive maintenance services on Endoscopy Diagnostic Equipment carried out by the Biomedical Engineer Division, NUH or its vendors.
10. Provide generic IT support to resolve hardware issues (e.g., printer, AIO, network, etc.).
11. Update and maintain records of all Biomedical Equipment kept in the Endoscopic Suite.
12. Maintain proper and accurate records in preparation for any impending surveillances from auditors or any relevant authorities.
13. Manage scope inventory and track repair and scope breakdown status.
14. Maintain proper and accurate records of scope usage for all the Endoscopic Suites.
15. Participate in in-service programs, group discussions, and meetings.
16. Carry out pre-purchase evaluation together with Clinician, Nurse Manager/Nurse Clinician, and Ops Manager before purchasing decisions are made.
17. Assist the Nurse Manager/Nurse Clinician during audit rounds.
18. Manage data storage and backup solutions to ensure data security and disaster recovery.
19. Provide guidance together with Biomedical Engineers to Nursing and Clinicians on the handling of medical equipment and scopes.
20. Perform any other duties/ad-hoc projects as assigned by Reporting Officer.

Requirements*

Qualification Required and Area of Discipline:

• A Higher NITEC/Diploma in any Biomedical Engineering related courses.

Required Competencies and Capabilities (Skills, Experiences, and Professional Licenses):

• A minimum of 2 years of technical working experience in any Biomedical Engineering fields is preferable.

Skills and Knowledge:

• Self-motivated, professional, dedicated to quality, and highly responsible and organized.
• Possess initiative and drive to learn.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office.
