Main responsibilities:
Vaccines M&S is preparing its future through an ambitious program named Evolutive Facility. The EVF Project is at the cornerstone of Sanofi strategy as it aims at creating a new manufacturing concept consisting of a new generation of evolutive multi-product facilities, modular, adaptable, and agile, leveraging new disruptive technologies, to better address vaccine business challenges.
The Senior Electrical and Instrumentation Technician holds the responsibility for operation, maintenance, and optimization of advanced electrical and instrumentation systems, with a focus on digital integration, automation, and data-driven processes. He/she works closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the seamless integration of digital technologies within the facility's electrical and instrumentation infrastructure. This position ensures the accuracy, reliability, and compliance of all instruments used in the process of manufacturing and executes all electrical and calibration activities during the plant operation phase, including routine calibration, troubleshooting, and maintaining a wide range of instruments to support the production of high-quality vaccines and align with Industry and Digital 4.0 initiatives.
The Senior Electrical and Instrument Technician will report to Engineer/Lead.
Transitioning from Greenfield to Operation:
- Lead the transition of electrical and instrumentation systems from the project phase to full operational status, ensuring all equipment is correctly installed, tested, and ready for use.
- Work closely with project teams during the commissioning phase to verify that systems meet design specifications and operational requirements.
- Support to develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the maintenance and operation of electrical and instrumentation systems.
Electrical, ELV Systems Operation and Maintenance:
- Manage and perform maintenance and troubleshooting of electrical systems, including high and low voltage systems, motor control centres (MCCs), PLCs, and power distribution networks.
- Ensure all electrical systems are compliant with relevant codes, standards, and regulations, particularly those specific to vaccine manufacturing.
- Maintain all the HT, LV switchboards, ELV system (FA, PA, CCTV, ACS and EVC) and instruments in good conditions at all times to minimize disruption to the production process.
Instrument maintenance and Calibration:
- Manage and perform installation, calibration, and maintenance of instrumentation devices, such as temperature sensors, pressure transducers, flow meters, and analytical instruments critical to vaccine production.
- Ensure the accuracy and reliability of all instrumentation through regular calibration and performance testing.
Operational Readiness and Support:
- Provide technical support during the initial operation of the facility, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring minimal downtime during the startup phase.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve technical challenges, particularly those that could impact vaccine production or quality.
Compliance and Documentation:
- Maintain meticulous records of all commissioning, testing, and operational activities related to electrical and instrumentation systems.
- Ensure all documentation is compliant with cGMP, including maintenance logs, calibration records, and validation reports.
- Support regulatory inspections and audits by providing detailed technical information and documentation as required.
- Perform operation and maintenance work in accordance with SOPs and maintenance/Job Plans generated from the iShift. She/he will also be required to follow up and regularly review and close all the work orders in the iShift.
Continuous Improvement:
- Identify and recommend improvements to systems and processes based on operational data and performance metrics.
- Participate in continuous improvement and energy saving initiatives, focusing on enhancing system reliability, efficiency, and compliance.
About You:
- Proficiency in electrical and instrumentation systems, including installation, testing, and troubleshooting using and maintaining PLCs, BMS, EMS, HMIs, and PCS systems.
- Expertise in the calibration and validation of instrumentation devices used in vaccine manufacturing.
- Knowledge of electrical safety standards and regulatory requirements, including FDA, EMA, HSA regulations and cGMP specific to the pharmaceutical industry.
- Knowledge to interpret electrical/instrument symbols/SLD, P&ID, AFD, and schematic diagrams.

- Leadership and project management skills, with the ability to guide teams through the transition phase.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with a focus on collaboration and teamwork.
- Ability to work under pressure, particularly during the critical startup phase of operations.
- Ability to lead contingent staff, external resources, including vendors & contractors.
Working Conditions:
- The role involves working in cleanroom environments, adhering to strict gowning and hygiene protocols.
- Flexibility to work extended hours, including nights and weekends, during the transition and early operational phases.
- Physical ability to perform tasks that may involve lifting, climbing, and working in confined spaces as required.
Qualifications / Requirement:
- Related Diploma or ITE or Advanced Diploma from an accredited technical institution.
- Minimum 5-8 years’ experience in operation, maintenance and calibration in electrical and instrumentation field & pharmaceutical manufacturing plant experience.
- Good knowledge and understanding of Singapore standards code of practice SS 650 and SS 638, calibration & operation principle of various types of instruments as well as cGMP guide and relevant maintenance standards.
- Having LEW grade 7 is an added advantage.
- Demonstrated experience in managing the transition from greenfield projects to operational readiness.
- Certification in calibration or a related field is desirable.
