Job description

Job Summary

The Trade Compliance Specialist will support the Entegris Trade Compliance Program by coordinating import and export compliance activities, performing audits, training and record keeping, as well as by providing guidance and recommendations to compliance related issues to mitigate risks. This position is based in the Entegris Singapore office, reporting to the Asia Trade Compliance Manager. The successful candidate will assume responsibility for Japan and Singapore compliance activities.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Ensure daily import and export operations or activities are executed in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations and requirements (especially the US, Japan and Singapore export control requirements).
  2. Screening of customers to ensure legitimate end users and end uses.
  3. Evaluate products for Japan and Singapore export control requirements. Support license management including license application, license tracking and record keeping.
  4. Determine and maintain tariff classification (HS Code) and ECCN in SAP, drive process improvement to ensure accuracy.
  5. Monitor and review/release control blocks in SAP Global Trade Services (GTS) for Asia.
  6. Monitor and evaluate imports that can qualify for FTA duties exemption.
  7. Respond to ad hoc trade compliance related requests and issues, and develop, implement and maintain a standard procedure to ensure future compliance.
  8. Stay up to date on regulation developments, understand the regulatory requirements and assess the actions/changes required to keep compliance.
  9. Manage and improve company Compliance Program (CP) by conducting compliance trainings, conducting internal audits, maintaining essential record keeping, and other compliance related activities.
  10. Facilitate external audits when required.
  11. Support other projects as required and assigned.

Requisite Criteria & Skills

  1. 5 or more years work experience in international trade compliance related field or a bachelor’s degree in trade or international business.
  2. Knowledge of Japan and Singapore export licensing programs.
  3. Experience with SAP & GTS.
  4. Strong project management skills and the ability to cope with multiple priorities.
  5. Enthusiastic, self-motivated and responsible.
  6. Must be proficient in the local language and English. Solid presentation, communication and influencing skills, able to work with other countries and cultures.
