Job Purpose
Support facility compliance with local safety and environmental regulations and corporate EHS policy and standards.
Provide EHS support to associated plant projects, ensuring compliance with local EHS regulations and corporate EHS policy and standards.
Monitor plant EHS performance to meet the EHS requirements and standards of local authority and corporate.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide EHS support and management to Manufacturing Plants (known as IPTs), ensuring compliance with local EHS regulations and corporate EHS policy and standards. Examples of activities (but not limited to) include:
Review project EHS checklist ensuring project scope includes required local or Corporate EHS requirements.
Be an EHS representative and participate in safety walkdowns during various project phases (e.g., pre-commissioning, commissioning, and final operational turnover).
Conduct hazard identification and risk assessments onsite for operations in accordance with MOM and company guidelines.
Provide end-to-end oversight over EHS deliverables in Plant Projects, New Product Introductions, and Shutdowns (annual IPT shutdowns).
Drive compliance for high-risk works (confined space, LOTO, electrical safety, machine safety, hot work, line breaking, etc.) with strong technical understanding and leadership.
Responsible for reporting IPT metrics to site management on the effectiveness of the EHS programs and improvements being implemented.
Perform on-site inspections and audits with the project team.
Develop and deliver effective EHS training to project teams to align them with our company standards and requirements.
Represent Site EHS to support and participate in all safety assessment activities such as HAZOPs, Ergonomics Assessments, Machine Safety Assessments, What-ifs, Fire Safety Assessments, Safety Design, and other assessments to ensure compliance with our company EHS standards.
Participate in all turnover walkdowns and PSSRs to ensure handover of systems and equipment from project to site ops, providing verification of our company EHS requirements.
Support specific EHS programs as assigned (i.e., Process Safety, Industrial Hygiene and Environmental, Ergonomics, Machine Safety) and other duties to deliver a safe and compliant project.
Participate and support Global EHS meetings, community of practices, working forums, and inter-geographic site discussions.
Work as a team member to collaborate with other departments to maintain a good EHS culture on site.
Complete other projects as assigned by the manager.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
Perform EHS support of assigned areas (i.e., specific IPT, Process Safety, Environment, and Industrial Hygiene) and ensure all company and regulatory requirements are met.

Implement effectively any tasks or projects as assigned by the supervisor as prioritized by business need.
WHAT YOU MUST HAVE
Qualification:
Safety and Environmental Degree in Environmental, Chemical Engineering, Chemical Process Engineering, or other related fields.
Experience:
Minimum 8 to 10 years of EHS-related experience in the chemical, petrochemical, or pharmaceutical industries.
Possess general/technical understanding of machinery and equipment, piping and instrumentation, plant construction, and pharmaceutical utility systems.
Prior experience as a Process/Chemical Engineer will be an advantage.
Possess Machine Safety certification or management is an advantage.

Functional Competencies:
Technical understanding of how to conduct high-risk works safely (confined space, LOTO, electrical safety, machine safety, hot work, lifting, excavation, and line breaking, etc.).
Candidate should be a registered Fire Safety Manager (FSM) and Workplace Safety and Health Officer (WSHO).
Work independently to manage the safety of a small manufacturing plant, preferably such as biologicals manufacturing, tablet manufacturing, and laboratory safety support.
Good interpersonal skills, approachable, and high integrity.
