Role Overview:
This role will be involved in leading and managing a sales team to achieve sales targets and objectives. This role requires developing and implementing strategic sales plans to expand the company's customer base and increase revenue. The Senior Sales Engineer is responsible for identifying new business opportunities, nurturing relationships with existing clients, and analyzing sales data to identify areas for growth and improvement. Additionally, they collaborate with other departments, such as marketing and product development, to develop integrated sales strategies.
Key Accountabilities
Sales Strategy
- Develop and implement comprehensive sales strategies by building robust relationships with key verticals offering tailored solutions to meet revenue targets and expand our customer base in the conventional power sector.
Revenue Growth and Profitability
- Track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as sales revenue, conversion rates, pipeline growth, and customer acquisition costs by collaborating with the sales operations manager enabled with the CRM system.
- Conduct root cause analysis when KPIs deviate from expectations to identify underlying factors affecting performance.
Client Relationship Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients by developing and implementing strategic plans, identifying opportunities for account expansions, and minimizing churn for long-term success.
- Engage with clients to understand their business objectives, aligning our solutions with their goals.
Team Leadership
- Foster the professional growth of team members by providing training, coaching, and mentorship.
- Set clear and challenging sales goals for the team and manage performance against these objectives.
- Collaborate with HR to define job requirements and facilitate a smooth onboarding process for new hires.
Business Development
- Develop strategies to generate leads and expand the customer base. Analyze sales data and market trends to identify opportunities for growth.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Collaborate with departments such as marketing, technical, and finance to ensure alignment of sales activities with overall business objectives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or a related field. MBA preferred.
Experience:
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years' experience and 8 to 10 years experience in a sales management role in the conventional power systems industry.
- Previous experience in technical sales, especially in the power generation industry, is highly advantageous.
Technical Competencies & Interpersonal Skills:
- Proven experience in managing business within specific industry verticals and leading a sales team.
- Strong understanding of data analytics and business intelligence for decision-making.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Proficient in CRM software, data analysis tools, and Microsoft Office suite.
- Fluent in English.
- Good team player.
- Technical proficiency in diesel power generation systems.
- Problem-solving ability to address customer needs.
- Sales acumen and experience in customer relationship management.
