JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Implement, and ensure compliance with effective written policies on all operational areas of the licensed trust company including the licensed trust company’s financial policies, accounting and internal controls, trust accounting, internal auditing, trust administration, trusteeship and compliance with all laws and rules governing the licensed trust company’s operations
Identify, address and monitor the risks associated with the business activities of the licensed trust company and ensure that the licensed trust company keeps a written record of the steps taken by it to monitor compliance with its policies, the limits on discretionary powers and its accounting and operating procedures
Ensure that the business activities of the licensed trust company are subject to adequate internal audit, and that the internal audit of the licensed trust company includes inquiring into the licensed trust company’s compliance with all relevant laws
Ensure the accuracy, correctness and completeness of any report, book or statement submitted by the licensed trust company to the governing body
Undertake projects supporting new business initiatives and regulatory requirements, development of new products, services and system
Resource planning, staff development training and process improvement
Responsible for trust administration management system, Trust administration, business acceptance, accounting and general administration of the trust department. Ensure compliance with policies and procedures set out in trust operational manual.
Draft and update trust precedents and provide training on trust administration.
Monitor and control day to day operations to ensure compliance with business and regulatory requirements and meeting all service standards
Liaison with clients for trust set up and maintain such client relationship throughout trusteeship.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Law, or a related discipline.
At least 5 years of experience as a Resident Manager in trust or corporate services, with a strong administrative background.
Proven ability to implement and maintain compliance with trust company policies, internal controls, accounting procedures, and applicable regulatory frameworks.
Skilled in managing trust administration systems, identifying and mitigating operational risks, ensuring written records of monitoring activities, and adherence to limits on discretionary powers.
Experience in trust administration, including client onboarding, drafting trust precedents, training delivery, and maintaining client relationships throughout the trusteeship.
Capable of overseeing internal audits, preparing accurate reports for governing bodies, and supporting business growth through new projects and process improvements.
Capable of managing remote teams based in Malaysia and elsewhere
Experienced with managing interactions with MAS.
