Senior Resident Engineer C&S (Bedok)

Job Description

1. To be overall in charge, manage and control a team of resident technical offices or RTO in their daily C&S inspection and manage the approval form for inspection and overtime works and claims.
2. To ensure that the Contractor coordinates the work of various contractors.
3. To agree to detailed programmes of work-time chart and representation on site plans.
4. To check that all necessary drawings and instructions have been given to contractors and authorization obtained, in accordance with the agreed programme.
5. To check that materials are ordered in good time and permits obtained.
6. To check that all construction works are carried out in a safe manner, and that the site is kept secure.
7. To watch for faulty workmanship and materials incorporated in the works and to issue instructions for rectification.
8. To check line and level and layout of structure during erection and that intentions of contract drawings are adhered to.
9. To check structural slab, beam and column sizes and reinforcements placed and that intent of design details are followed.

Job Requirements

1. Recognized degree in Civil/Structural Engineering acceptable for registration with the PE Board, Singapore. Registered PEs will be preferred.
2. RE must have at least 15 years’ post-graduate experience in supervising building projects. Applicants with both design and supervision experience as Resident Engineer will be favourably considered.
3. Fully conversant with Building Contract Act and Regulations. Able to administer contracts professionally, maintain site records and contract documents systematically to meet reporting requirements under Building Control Act.
4. Extensive experience in the supervision of deep basement construction, preferably with top-down construction, bored pile systems, secant bored pile wall, diaphragm wall, precast concrete and structural steel construction.
5. Experience with projects located adjacent to existing MRT structures or sensitive structures such as underground water pipes, canals, etc. will be advantageous.
6. Able to start work by Feb/Mar 2025.
