Applications are invited for a Senior Research Fellow in the Centre for International Law (CIL), National University of Singapore. This is a 2-year contractual position offered in connection with CIL’s expansion of its programme on international environmental law with an emphasis on climate change law and policy. The objective of the position is to engage in research on emerging issues related to international environmental law and climate change.

The duties of the incumbent will include:

  • Conducting research and writing on issues related to international environmental law and climate change;
  • Publications in top tier peer-reviewed journals;
  • Developing and teaching training courses on topics related tointernational environmental law andclimate change with a target audience of government officials and practitioners;
  • Assisting in the development of seminars and conferences on climate change issues.

All research staff in CIL will have access to professional development opportunities (e.g., events, seminars, and training programmes) within NUS. They will also have opportunities to attend regional and international conferences, workshops, and symposiums as well as other scholarly opportunities.

Qualifications

  • PhD degree in international environmental law and climate change with at least 3 years of postdoctoral research experience;
  • Strong research skills with the ability to prepare research papers on specific research topics assigned;
  • Proven records in conducting independent research on topics related to climate change law;
  • Experience with publication of journal articles or book chapters on international law is desirable;
  • Fluent language skills in English is required. Additional languages a plus.
