A regional bank is seeking an experienced Corporate Banker (India) to join the team in Singapore, focusing on developing and managing relationships with large corporate clients in the Indian market. In this role, you will be responsible for growing the corporate banking business for India and driving revenue by delivering tailored financial solutions to meet the needs of major Indian conglomerates and multinational companies operating in India.
Primary Responsibilities
Actively source and develop new corporate client relationships, with a focus on large Indian enterprises and MNCs in India
Manage and deepen existing corporate banking relationships with Indian clients, understanding the financial needs and providing appropriate banking products and services
Structure and deliver customised corporate banking solutions including lending, cash management, trade finance, and other specialised services
Work closely with internal teams (credit, product, operations) to ensure seamless delivery of services to clients
Identify cross-sell and up-sell opportunities to expand the breadth of banking services provided to clients
Maintain strong market knowledge of the Indian corporate landscape, industry trends, and competitive landscape
Meet or exceed individual and team sales targets and financial goals
Represent the bank at industry events, client meetings, and other networking activities
Requirements
Minimum 10 years of experience in corporate banking, with a strong track record of business development and client relationship management in the Indian market
Sound understanding of the Indian corporate sector, including industry dynamics, regulatory environment, and client needs
Extensive network of senior-level contacts within large Indian conglomerates and multinational corporations
Proven ability to identify client needs, structure appropriate banking solutions, and deliver exceptional customer service
Strong business acumen, financial analysis skills, and commercial negotiation capabilities
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, with proficiency in relevant Indian languages (e.g., Hindi, Tamil, Telugu) preferred
Willingness to travel regularly to India to meet with clients and prospects
Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, or a related field; Master’s degree or professional banking certification is an advantage
