Senior Psychologist, Paediatrics (Child Development Unit)

The Psychologist / Senior Psychologist is required to provide psychometric assessments and intervention programmes for patients within the Child Development Unit of the Department of Paediatrics. He/She will be involved in data collection and analysis to support research and inform psychoeducational programmes. The Psychologist works under the supervision of a Senior Psychologist.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct appropriate psychometric assessments and result interpretation for referred patients.
  • Accurately document assessment findings and make appropriate recommendations.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate appropriate intervention/group programmes for referred patients.
  • Focus on specialisation of expertise in psychology and initiate and implement new psychological services.
  • Develop materials for teaching and training.
  • Provide in-service training for department staff as needed.
  • Provide specialised teaching and supervision to psychology interns on clinical attachment.
  • Contribute to team-level operational tasks.
  • Participate in research projects as a member of the research team, as appropriate.
  • Provide expertise for queries from magazines, newspapers, or other forms of media from our Corporate Communications department.
  • Lead in the provision of talks on education of psychological/learning/developmental disorders to health providers or the public.

Requirements:

  • Master of Psychology, with specialisation in Educational/School Psychology or Clinical Psychology, from an accredited university.
  • Registered or eligible for registration with a recognised psychological professional body.
  • Fresh Master graduates with relevant work/internship experience prior to/during Masters training will be an added advantage.
  • Clinical training in conducting assessments and/or providing therapy to children.
  • Team player who is motivated to provide a high standard of patient care and also able to work independently.
