Take ownership of the product lifecycle, from RFQ management in collaboration with Sales & Marketing and Operations to meet customer requirements.
Ensure the timely closure of RFQs by tracking and reporting Turnaround Time (TAT).
Lead and ensure the successful execution of FAT (Factory Acceptance Test), FLP (First Lot Production), and FAI (First Article Inspection) to meet all customer requirements.
Oversee the Bill of Materials (BOM) and Routing setup for the assigned product, ensuring accuracy and timely execution in alignment with TAT goals.
Drive product performance improvements through yield enhancement, scrap reduction, On-Time Delivery (OTD), and Parts Per Million (PPM) improvements.
Manage product concessions and ensure compliance with both internal and customer requirements in collaboration with Sales & Marketing.
Oversee the management of product-related packaging, raw materials, tooling, and fixtures.
Act as the key interface between the company and the customer for all product-related matters.
Identify and lead Continuous Improvement Projects for the assigned product, focusing on cost reductions, cycle time optimization, and consumables spend reductions using Six Sigma and LEAN tools (e.g., SPC, PFMEA, PCP, RCA, etc.).
Collaborate in weekly status reviews with stakeholders on FAT, Yield, Scrap, and OTD to ensure alignment with company goals.
Ensure compliance with AS9100 quality management standards.
Job Requirements:
Master's or Bachelor's degree in Optical, Mechanical, or Precision Engineering, or equivalent experience.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in optics, opto-mechanical, or opto-electronics systems, with proficiency in data analysis.
Experience across all phases of product development: from design and prototyping to mass production and end-of-life.
Proficiency in AutoCAD or SolidWorks for design and drafting.
Familiarity with optical design software (e.g., Zemax or other).
Strong knowledge of Six Sigma and Lean principles.
Some project management experience is preferred.
Hands-on experience with optical testing and metrology systems.
Knowledge and experience with fiber optics is a plus.
Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking skills.
