As a Senior Principal Medical Laboratory Scientist, you will be responsible for the following duties:

• Provide strategic leadership and oversight for advanced genomic services, managing all clinical and developmental components to ensure high-quality delivery.

• Deliver expert-level interpretation and reporting of complex genomic data, including DNA sequencing results and chromosomal structural variations.

• Utilize deep scientific knowledge to guide service delivery, with a focus on troubleshooting and enhancing laboratory assays.

• Collaborate closely with medical geneticists and genetic counsellors to inform and support clinical decision-making.

• Ensure the accuracy, timeliness, and clinical relevance of both routine and highly specialized genetic testing.

• Oversee the laboratory’s involvement in external quality assurance programmes, ensuring alignment with clinical and regulatory standards.

• Work in close partnership with multidisciplinary teams—comprising clinicians, laboratory scientists, operations, and administrative staff—to promote seamless, integrated service delivery.

• Any other ad-hoc duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Doctoral Degree (Ph.D.) in genetics, genomics, human genetics, or a related field within the biological sciences.

• Completed training in an American Board of Medical Genetics and Genomics (ABMGG).
