Job Description
Effectively and efficiently supports the achievement of the section's objectives.
Independently manages the supply of medications to patients.
Oversees the preparation and dispensing of medications, including unit doses, intravenous admixtures, investigational drugs, and outpatient prescriptions.
Monitors patient drug therapy to ensure it is safe, rational, and effective, while developing relevant monitoring criteria.
Provides medication-related information to healthcare professionals and patients.
Supervises section staff, including training, scheduling, directing, and evaluating performance.
Actively coordinates section activities with other pharmacy departments.
Collects feedback, new ideas, and suggestions from pharmacists and support staff, and presents them to the pharmacy head to aid in decision-making.
Implements policies, practices, and regulations set by the pharmacy department, management committees, and external regulatory bodies (e.g., MOH pharmacy practice standards, JCI standards).
Treats patients, visitors, and staff with compassion, courtesy, and professionalism.
Ensures that the section staff is perceived as helpful, compassionate, and competent by patients, medical, nursing, and other hospital staff.
Manages staff rostering within the section.
Requirements
Capable of working independently.
Strong listening and communication skills.
Hospital experience is preferred but not required.
A minimum of 1 year of experience as a fully registered pharmacist is preferred.
Holds a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from an accredited institution.
