Senior / Network Engineer (permanent role)

Our client, a large financial institution, is looking for a highly skilled Network Engineer to join their team. You will be responsible for designing, implementing network solutions as well as providing production support on mission-critical networks.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Implement network solutions that meet the organization's network and security requirements.
2. Contribute expertise towards a proposed technical solution and work with internal colleagues to define the roadmap and milestones.
3. Provide level 2 support, assisting with troubleshooting, design, configuration, and escalated problem management.
4. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and best practices in network technology and security.
5. Configure routers, switches, firewalls, and other networking devices to ensure optimal performance and security.
6. Proactively monitor network performance, identify issues, and implement solutions to minimize downtime and disruptions.
7. Maintain accurate network documentation, diagrams, and operational procedures.
8. Provide regular reports on network health, performance, and security.

Requirements:

1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
2. Minimum 4 years experience in routing and switching (Cisco, Juniper).
3. Knowledge of TCP/IP and routing protocols (e.g., BGP, OSPF).
4. Strong analytical skills to troubleshoot complex network issues, identify root causes, and perform remediation activities.
5. Working knowledge of standard ITIL processes, including Incident, Change, Problem, and Configuration Management.
6. Preferred certifications such as Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), or equivalent industry certifications.
7. Good understanding of complex troubleshooting and resolving issues with clients.
8. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
9. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
10. Proven solution architecture and design experience.
