[Responsibilities]
Create and optimize mechanical designs for high-power electronics and vacuum chambers.
Manage the design and documentation of sheet metal, injection-molded, and machined parts.
Collaborate with design teams in the US and Asia.
Calculate dimensional and positional variations (tolerance stack-ups) for components.
Conduct engineering simulations for thermal, structural, and fluid-flow analysis.
Design experiments and gather data on temperature and stress/strain.
Consider material properties and failure modes in design.
Test component durability and performance.
Work with manufacturers to ensure parts are cost-effective and manufacturable.
Incorporate fabrication methods into the design process.
Guide Mechanical Designers and Drafters.
Participate in making and modifying prototype parts, including 3D printing.
[Requirements]
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering/Material Science.
At least 5 years of design experience.
Advanced skills in SolidWorks or similar 3D modeling software.
Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) per ANSI Y14.5.
Experience with thermal analysis, hand calculations, and simulation software (Ansys preferred).
Familiarity with plasma processing and semiconductor wafer requirements.
Experience with vacuum equipment and materials science for harsh environments.
Knowledge of manufacturing processes like metal machining and injection molding.
Expertise in thermal instrumentation and experimental design.
[Advantage]
Scripting skills in Python or MATLAB for data acquisition and simulation.
Experience in anodization for corrosive environments.
