SENIOR MECHANICAL ENGINEER

Main Role and Responsibilities

Planning and design of mechanical engineering works for building services projects to deliver buildable design within a timely manner, and economical service to meet client’s requirements.

Key Responsibilities

1. Design of mechanical services such as Air-Conditioning and Mechanical Ventilation, Fire Protection, Medical gas, Compressed Air, and Sanitary and Plumbing Systems.
2. Presentation of design concept report to client.
3. Preparation of M&E cost estimate based on approved design scheme.
4. Preparation of technical specifications and tender documentation.
5. Coordination of M&E services within the office.
6. Reviewing shop drawings, material submissions, and handling RFIs.
7. Verification of work progress and variation orders for progress claims.
8. Liaising with main contractor, architect, and authorities to ensure technical compliance and timely completion of projects.
9. Carrying out site investigation surveys and submitting technical reports.
10. Managing designers.
11. Project management from pre-development through to completion, including:
1. Site assessment and inspection.
2. Design development and coordination.
3. Attending site meetings and technical meetings to resolve technical issues.
4. Following up with authorities on submissions, inspections, and issuance of certifications.
12. Ensuring that all project quality records and quality audit plans are maintained.
13. Conducting regular inspections to ensure works are in compliance with method statements and proper sequence of work, and in accordance with good industry practices.
14. Providing feedback in the areas of quality control measures and corrective actions.
15. Assisting in company’s ISO system implementation and audit.
16. Other works as assigned by the company.
