SENIOR MECHANICAL ENGINEER

Main Role and Responsibilities

Planning and design of mechanical engineering works for building services projects to deliver buildable design within a timely manner and economical service to meet client’s requirements.

Key Responsibilities

1. Design of mechanical services such as Air-Conditioning and Mechanical Ventilation, Fire Protection, Medical Gas, Compressed Air, and Sanitary and Plumbing Systems.
2. Presentation of design concept report to the client.
3. Preparation of M&E cost estimate based on approved design scheme.
4. Preparation of technical specifications and tender documentation.
5. Coordination of M&E services within the office.
6. Reviewing shop drawings, material submissions, and handling RFIs.
7. Verification of work progress and variation orders for progress claims.
8. Liaise with main contractor, architect, and authorities to ensure technical compliance and timely completion of the project.
9. Carry out site investigation surveys and submit technical reports.
10. Managing designers.
11. Project management from pre-development through to completion, including:
1. Site assessment and inspection.
2. Design development and coordination.
3. Attending site meetings, technical meetings, etc., to resolve technical issues.
4. Following up with authorities on submissions, inspections, and issuance of certification.
12. Ensure that all project quality records and quality audit plans are maintained.
13. Conduct regular inspections to ensure works are in compliance with method statements and proper sequence of work, in accordance with good industry practices.
14. Provide feedback in the areas of quality control measures and corrective actions.
15. Assist in the company’s ISO system implementation and audit.
16. Other works as assigned by the company.
