Senior/Manager, Wellbeing & Engagement (Healthcare)

  • Wellbeing Centre Development, Growth and Operations
  • Development and growth of Wellbeing Centre
  • Oversee the day-to-day management of the Centre
  • Support patients and caregivers to navigate and access services within the institute, in the community and the broader health care system
  • Ensure adherence to relevant quality and safety, professional and healthcare standards and mandatory education related to risk management, occupational health and safety, and other relevant areas
  • Lead and oversee the recruitment and selection of any new staff and wellbeing champions (volunteers) to ensure they are orientated to the procedures and operations of the Centre.
  • Manage and supervise staff, monitor staff performance and development, and address staff performance issues effectively according to policies and procedures.
  • Manage the Centre's wellbeing/cultural champions (volunteers) including offering training, support and debriefing opportunities.
  • Ensure all complaints and incidents are managed in accordance to cluster policies and procedures.
  • Patient and Caregiver Engagement and Advocacy
  • Active promotion of an organisational culture of engaging patient and caregiver advocates in all related activities.
  • Establish structures at an operational level to facilitate patient and caregiver engagement.
  • Create and implement a consumer engagement framework to reinforce values and goals.
  • Establish a Patient and Caregiver Advocacy Network and Advisory Committee and provide ongoing support to patient and caregiver advocates.
  • Collaborate and be the representative for the Group Patient and Caregiver Support Office.
  • Research, Impact and Innovation
  • Implement systems to collect measurable outcomes on wellbeing programs (e.g., mental health improvements, reduced hospital readmissions, and enhanced quality of life).
  • Publish findings to position the institute as a leader in patient-centric cancer care.
  • Collaborate on studies exploring psychosocial wellbeing, innovative care models, and survivorship experiences.
  • Create learning opportunities for medical students, oncology trainees and researchers to integrate wellbeing into cancer care delivery.
  • Pilot New Models of Care including testing novel approaches, such as multidisciplinary wellbeing teams (navigators, psychologists, nutritionists, therapists) working closely with oncologists.
  • Evaluate and scale successful models to benefit more patients and caregivers.
  • Others
  • Coordinate and oversee key wellbeing projects and initiatives involving patients, caregivers, and staff.
  • Contribute to the implementation of a broader wellbeing model of care.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders involved in the provision of health, mental health and psychosocial services for cancer patients and caregivers.
  • Ensure there is financial responsibility and accountability in all areas of responsibility.
  • Other duties consistent with the position where required and/or requested by management.
Job Requirements
  • Tertiary qualifications in Health or Health Related discipline such as public health, nursing/allied health, health service management and/or project management.
  • Knowledge and experience in the principles and practices of patient-centred care, patient and caregiver participation in health, and community engagement.
  • Demonstrated experience developing, implementing and evaluating a multidisciplinary program of activities and services.
  • Demonstrated experience at managing all aspects of staff and team performance, including recruitment, staff orientation, supervision, performance development and team building.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships and work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders across the organisation; including patients, carers, the community and external providers.
  • High level prioritising skills and developed capacity to multi-task under pressure without loss of efficiency or composure.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to leverage data to drive decision-making and operational improvements.
  • Dynamic, collaborative leadership who thrives on agility, innovation and change.
  • Self-motivated, positive with a can-do attitude.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as a team member.
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written) and presentation skills.
  • Experience engaging, communicating, and managing relationships with diverse stakeholders including patient and caregiver advocates, clinicians and researchers.
  • Experience providing education to patient and caregiver advocates as well as staff.
  • Understanding of cancer experiences and survivorship will be an advantage.
  • Experience in developing policies and procedures in a hospital setting will be an advantage.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology will be an advantage.
  • Experience in patient experience offices and cancer wellbeing programs will be an advantage.
  • Multi-lingual will be an advantage due to the interactions needed with different groups of stakeholders.
