Senior Manager / Manager, Fixed Assets (3 years renewable contract)

JOB DESCRIPTION

1. Supervise and oversee the fixed asset team to conduct asset verification exercise (AVE) and asset RFID tagging for A*STAR Research Institutes/Entities (RIs).
2. Co-ordinate and plan AVE and RFID tagging schedule with RI managers or directors to ensure tasks are completed in accordance with the agreed timeline.
3. Arrange and chair regular meetings with RI managers or directors to report the progress of AVE and tagging plans, and escalate findings and issues reported from the daily AVE and tagging duties.
4. Review the changes of asset details (i.e., serial no. & location) upon completion of daily AVE duties.
5. Compile AVE findings and prepare statistic reports for management review.
6. Supervise staff to compile list of unsighted assets upon completion of AVE and follow up on investigation results with RIs.
7. Prepare AVE reports and ensure mitigation controls are implemented by RIs to avoid reoccurrence of missing assets.
8. Lead team to assist in assets-related audits, handle audit queries and coordinate with custodians to perform asset sighting as required by auditors.
9. Review, standardize and streamline asset management policies and procedures to improve work efficiencies. Implement appropriate process controls for a robust asset management process flow on asset capitalization, asset tagging and verification, as well as asset disposals and transfers.
10. Engage RIs and collaborate with them so that they have a better understanding of the Fixed Asset processes.
11. Drive digitalization projects to automate the Fixed Asset processes, e.g., RFID tagging for Fixed Assets.
12. Provide management reports on Fixed Assets, address ad-hoc management queries, and perform useful and informative analysis for reporting at the half-yearly Audit Committee meetings.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

1. Degree in Accountancy or equivalent finance and accounting qualification
2. At least 3 to 5 years of relevant work experience, preferably in a shared services environment
3. Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, presentation, interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills
4. Meticulous, able to multi-task, work independently and deliver results under pressure and tight timelines
5. Team player with positive working attitude and a strong mindset for learning and growth
6. Supervisory skills and familiarity with SAP accounting and analytical tools such as Tableau and PowerBI will be advantageous
7. Good command of MS Office applications
