A*STAR is Singapore's lead public sector agency that spearheads research to advance scientific discovery and develop innovative technology.

The Research Excellence and Foresighting (REF) department under A*STAR's Research Office (RO) helps to enable scientific excellence. This department champions long term (5 years and beyond) research strategies for A*STAR and works closely with A*STAR's 2 research councils (Biomedical Research and Science & Engineering Research) to drive the agency's research excellence and international scientific competitiveness. This department also supports the Deputy Chief Executive for Research on strategic talent attraction for A*STAR in key areas of research priorities. The REF department works closely with the other 2 RO departments, namely Research & Grants Management (RGM) and Research Integrity, Compliance, Ethics & Support (RICES) to fulfill the mandate of the Research Office.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and energetic Senior Manager / Manager / Assistant Manager to join our dynamic team.

Key Responsibilities

1. Undertake technology and scientific foresighting to develop long-term research and scientific roadmap for A*STAR, including a portfolio of Moonshots.
2. Design and plan platforms for ideation, networking, and collaboration.
3. Coordinate a scientific advisory panel to provide independent assessments of the scientific quality of research.
4. Engage relevant stakeholders internally and externally, including the National Research Foundation and the RIE ecosystem.
5. Contribute to scientific editing services.
6. Plan, organise, and execute events and award ceremonies.

Requirements

1. Interest in understanding emerging technologies and research areas.
2. Competency in data and numerical analysis to support in-depth evaluations.
3. Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
4. Strong stakeholder management skills.
5. Good project management skills to steer complex projects to success.
6. Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
7. Adaptable and versatile.
8. A background in science and technology will be advantageous.
