A*STAR is Singapore's lead public sector agency that spearheads research to advance scientific discovery and develop innovative technology.

The Research Excellence and Foresighting (REF) department under A*STAR's Research Office (RO) helps to enable scientific excellence. This department champions long-term (5 years and beyond) research strategies for A*STAR and works closely with A*STAR's 2 research councils (Biomedical Research and Science & Engineering Research) to drive the agency's research excellence and international scientific competitiveness. The REF department works closely with the other 2 RO departments, namely Research & Grants Management (RGM) and Research Integrity, Compliance, Ethics & Support (RICES) to fulfill the mandate of the Research Office.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and energetic Senior Manager / Manager / Assistant Manager to join our dynamic team.

Key Responsibilities

• Undertake technology and scientific foresighting to develop long-term research and scientific roadmap for A*STAR, including a portfolio of Moonshots
• Design and plan platforms for ideation, networking and collaboration
• Coordinate a scientific advisory panel to provide independent assessments of the scientific quality of research
• Engage relevant stakeholders internally and externally, including the National Research Foundation and the RIE ecosystem
• Contribute to scientific editing services
• Plan, organise, and execute events and award ceremonies

Requirements

• Interest in understanding emerging technologies and research areas
• Competency in data and numerical analysis to support in-depth evaluations
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
• Strong stakeholder management skills
• Good project management skills to steer complex projects to success
• Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
• Adaptable and versatile
• A background in science and technology will be advantageous
• Fresh graduates are welcome to apply
