Job Description

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Manager/Assistant Senior Manager in Human Resources to join our team at NUS-ISS. This role is pivotal in shaping and implementing HR strategies that align with our institution's goals and objectives. The successful candidate will combine HR Business Partner (HRBP) responsibilities with a strong focus on Learning and Development (L&D), ensuring our workforce is equipped with the skills and knowledge necessary for success.

  1. Manage and provide full spectrum HR advisory to line managers in identifying people and operational issues.
  2. In partnership with line managers, drive a purpose-driven culture and promote a diverse, inclusive, and engaging employee experience.
  3. Collaborate with line managers to understand critical requirements, projects, and future skills demand for recruitment and manpower planning.
  4. Manage learning and development, and performance management processes, including coaching reporting officers and staff on effective feedback mechanisms, and champion a high-performance culture.
  5. Review policies, guidelines, and standard operating procedures regularly to stay abreast of HR best practices and remain efficient and relevant.
  6. Initiate improvements to internal HR processes, systems, and communications towards enhancing service excellence.
  7. Provide advice to employees and manage activities related to industrial relations, employee grievances, conduct, and discipline.
  8. Handle day-to-day HR activities, including HR administration and operations.

Qualifications

  1. Minimum 10 years of relevant working experience in HR Business Partner role equivalent.
  2. Proficiency in MS Office Applications and HR systems, i.e., SAP, Success Factor.
  3. Strong knowledge of Employment Act and Labour Laws would be advantageous.
  4. Ability to take initiative and work independently and collaboratively with the team.
  5. Strong analytical thinking and communication skills both written and verbal.
  6. Ability to handle sensitive matters with tact and discretion, while building trust and upholding confidentiality.
  7. Well-developed prioritization, time management, and multitasking skills.
  8. Ability to work well under pressure, meet deadlines, and drive projects to completion.
