JOB PURPOSE
The Senior HR Manager supports the Head of HR in driving key HR initiatives, managing day-to-day operations, and aligning HR functions with the organization’s strategic goals. This role plays a pivotal part in payroll management, industrial relations, learning and development, and employee engagement, ensuring a compliant, efficient, and employee-focused HR environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
HR Operations Support
- Assist the Head of HR in managing day-to-day HR operations to ensure smooth and efficient processes.
- Act as a key point of contact for HR-related matters, providing support to employees and stakeholders.
Payroll Administration
- Oversee payroll processing to ensure accuracy, compliance, and timely salary disbursement.
- Collaborate with the finance team to maintain adherence to tax regulations and reporting standards.
- Address payroll-related queries and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
Industrial Relations
- Support the Head of HR in managing employee relations, including grievances, disciplinary actions, and conflict resolution.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with unions and employee representatives, where applicable.
- Ensure compliance with labor laws, industrial agreements, and regulatory requirements.
Learning and Development
- Collaborate with the Head of HR to assess learning needs and implement development programs to build organizational capability.
- Partner with department heads to design career development plans and succession strategies.
- Evaluate training outcomes and refine programs based on feedback and organizational goals
Talent Management
- Support recruitment and onboarding processes to attract and retain top talent.
- Work with the Head of HR to implement workforce planning strategies and close talent gaps.
- Contribute to initiatives that enhance employee engagement and promote a positive workplace culture.
Compliance and Policy Support
- Ensure alignment with employment laws, company policies, and industry best practices.
- Assist in policy updates and communicate changes effectively to employees.
- Support internal audits and implement corrective measures to maintain compliance.
Employee Engagement and Culture
- Drive the design and execution of initiatives to foster employee engagement and satisfaction.
- Work on action plans stemming from engagement surveys, addressing areas for improvement.
- Promote a culture of collaboration, recognition, and inclusivity across the organization.
Performance Management
- Support the Head of HR in executing performance management processes, including goal-setting and appraisals.
- Provide guidance to managers on performance feedback and development plans.
Stakeholder Collaboration
- Work closely with the Head of HR, department leaders, and employees to align HR initiatives with business objectives.
- Provide insights and recommendations to stakeholders on HR strategies and operational improvements.
HR Metrics and Reporting
- Collect and analyze HR data to support decision-making and strategic planning.
- Assist in preparing reports on key metrics such as payroll accuracy, employee turnover, and training outcomes.
Team Leadership
- Lead and mentor the HR team, fostering professional growth and collaboration.
- Promote a high-performance culture within the HR function.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience
- Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related discipline
- 8-10 years of HR experience, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
- Experience in payroll management, industrial relations, and learning and development will be an added advantage
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in HR systems, payroll software, and HR analytics tools.
- Strong knowledge of employment laws, industrial relations, and compliance requirements.

- Strategic mindset with attention to detail and operational excellence.
