Position Overview
Synapxe’ Product Finance team within the finance organization is looking for a Finance Senior Manager to support financial management, planning, and operations for mega IT projects. This role reports to the Finance Assistant Director and has a dotted line reporting into the Project Director.
The right candidate will demonstrate strong collaboration skills, financial and analytical aptitude, attention to detail, good business intuition, and the capability to work with multiple levels. Effective stakeholder management is critical as you will be the key trusted finance business partner to liaise with internal and external stakeholders. This is a highly visible role with exposure to senior management.
Role & Responsibilities
Financial Analysis and Reporting
- Sound understanding of the project and its operating model to provide financial/commercial insights to support key decisions or improvement plans.
- Preparing monthly financial reports and variance analysis (actual vs budget vs forecast) to support management’s review.
- Work closely with the finance team to ensure all reporting requirements and deadlines are met on time.
- Produce clear and concise financial/presentation decks to provide analytical insights to internal and external stakeholders or to address ad hoc issues.
- Management of the project finance team supporting the mega program.
- Partner with MOH on grant-related matters such as cash flow reporting, grant utilization reporting, funding requests, and other ad hoc requests from MOH.
- Financial ownership of the project including P&L, cash flow, and product reserves reporting.
Budgetary and Forecast Function
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop annual budgets and forecasts, analyzing past trends and any key assumption setting.
- Prepare and present decks on analysis results and identify any potential risks.
Controls, Policies, and Processes
- Review program funding papers and partner with the project delivery team, finance, and pricing team to develop cost recovery and pricing models.
- Process planning and improvement to help streamline the finance management process.
- Cross-functional collaboration with other departments to ensure seamless process on project daily operations.
- Any other matters as assigned by the Assistant Director of Finance as well as the Program Director.
Requirements
- Good degree in Accountancy or ACCA qualification, with a minimum of 8-10 years of relevant working experience in the Big 4 audit firms and/or commercial firms (combined).
- Experience in managing project finance matters for large projects in IT companies.
- This role requires a self-starter with strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage and prioritize across several ongoing tasks.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills to manage both internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to be clear and concise in thought process and communication to enable effective stakeholder management.
- Advanced proficiency with Excel, Power Pivot, or similar tools and comfortable working with large data sets.
- Self-starter who is proactive and results-driven.
- Need to be curious and have a keen interest to deep dive into financials to shed light on the projects.
- Ability to think logically and always challenge yourself to provide value-added support to your stakeholders.
- Highly motivated and resourceful individual who can work independently.
