Hilton has an incredible story to tell of growth, performance and purpose here in Asia Pacific (APAC). The company has more than 1,800 hotels in its trading and pipeline estate, across 12 brands deployed across the region. We are the fastest growing hotel company in APAC, with almost 1 in 4 hotel rooms under construction bearing the Hilton flag. This growth trajectory is bolstered by recent landmark signings that will see the iconic Waldorf Astoria brand debut in Japan, Malaysia, Vietnam, Australia and India, as well as the successful expansion of the award-winning Hilton Garden Inn brand. Hilton is an engine of opportunity for its 90,000 team members across APAC. As a testament to its unique culture, Hilton has ranked as the #1 hospitality company to work for in Great Place to Work’s “Best Workplaces in Asia” list for the 8th year running.
HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT
Your role is important and below are some of the fundamental job duties that make your work unique.
What your day-to-day will be like:
- Executive Communications: Draft impactful stakeholder communications – with a focus on executive communications support for Hilton’s President of APAC – to enhance the company’s reputation. This includes the building of executive briefings, as well as the drafting of editorial planning and reviews of external, internal and social content (written and on camera).
- Owner Communications: Lead content development and design for Hilton’s regional and global owners events, as well as owner-facing announcements and communications, to amplify strategic Hilton announcements and storytelling moments.
- External Communications: Support editorial planning, as well as the cultivation of key media contacts to further Hilton’s executive profiling and amplify key announcements, including major growth announcements, and strategic partnerships.
How you will collaborate with others:
- Partner across the APAC and Global Communications team, as well as leverage agency partners, to shape and deliver impactful, well-designed communications.
- Most meetings are held either in-person or virtually, during working hours. However, there are a handful of recurring/project-specific calls with the US- and EMEA-based teams that can fall outside of standard APAC working hours.
What you will take ownership of:
- Written, designed and video communications from the Hilton APAC President’s office on social media, to media outlets and owner audiences.
- Drafting key external announcements in partnership with the wider APAC external communications teams.
WHY YOU’LL BE A GREAT FIT
You have these minimum qualifications:
- 7+ years of work experience in executive communications, public relations and/or journalism, as well as stakeholder and project management, with a deep understanding of the APAC market.
- You are an excellent writer, collaborative team player and skilled project manager.
- You are experienced and confident in engaging and supporting c-suite leaders, and highly competent in navigating a matrixed global organization.
- You have a keen interest for travel and hospitality – and a heart for hotels, people and storytelling.
- You enjoy cultivating relationships with tier 1 business and trade media – helping to craft inspiring stories and building connections with important business influencers.
- You are proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint.
- You are flexible to work beyond/outside official hours when dealing with global teams in various time zones.
- You are willing to travel up to 30% (mostly within APAC).
