What the role is:
Who we are:
The Product Strategy Office’s mission is to enable GovTech to build great products, at scale, to maximise the public good. We chart GovTech’s overall product direction to solve national priority problems, act as a consultant for GovTech’s products, and do whatever it takes, which could include getting our hands dirty to PM with teams, to validate and execute our product strategy.
What you will be working on:
Top-down strategy/hypothesis development and execution. We will drive the development of an overall product strategy in terms of what GovTech should build. This includes identifying large problem areas, t-shirt sizing that the problem is worth solving, developing hypotheses, assumptions, and de-risking the biggest risks. Some potential areas include building modular enterprise platform products and data products.
Improving products. The candidate will work as a consultant to sharpen product thinking through product one-pagers, and influence teams to co-create go-to-market plans to improve product impact and efficiency.
Bottom-up best practices and policy development. We will amplify best product practices and prove them out, to the organisational, and whole-of-government level. This can include co-creating consistent and quality product practices (e.g. common tools, ways-of-working), reviewing funding frameworks and regulations to unblock obstacles while encouraging greater innovation.
Why join:
Rare opportunity to develop and execute overall government’s product portfolio strategy, to impact public good at scale.
Learn from, and make impact as a start-up team with experience from Bytedance, Carousell, Klarna, Shopback, Ninjavan.
This is an individual contributor position and the candidate will report directly to the Director of Product Strategy and Ops.
What we are looking for:
Technical knowledge in product management, including discerning realistic technical requirements and setting the right outcome metrics. Experience in enterprise, backend and data products a plus.
Hunger to learn, energised by large, ambiguous problem spaces and able to independently break it down into workable chunks.
Strong communicator in written, slides or spoken form, with good stakeholdering skills.
VC, corporate/business strategy, government experience a plus.
Our employee benefits are based on a total rewards approach, offering a holistic and market-competitive suite of perks. These include leave benefits to meet your work-life needs and employee wellness programmes.
We champion flexible work arrangements (subject to your job role) and trust that you will manage your own time to deliver your best, wherever you are, and whatever works best for you.
