Supervise logistics coordinators and operations teams, ensuring efficient workflow delegation and timely execution of projects.
Establish and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders, including port authorities, customs officials, shipping carriers, and third-party logistics providers.
Organize and lead pre-operations meetings with clients, vendors, and regulatory bodies to facilitate seamless freight and cargo arrangements.
Review and interpret contractual terms post-handover from the commercial team, ensuring all service commitments are properly executed.
Oversee the entire logistics process, including vessel and air chartering, offshore supply chain management, and out-of-gauge (OOG) cargo movements.
Drive cost efficiency by implementing procurement negotiations and operational enhancements to streamline freight and transportation activities.
Standardize company procedures, regulatory compliance, and documentation processes to align with ISO accreditation requirements.
Utilize digital tools, automation, and business intelligence solutions to optimize logistics tracking, reporting, and overall process efficiency.
Monitor and assess weekly freight operations, providing data-driven insights and recommendations to senior management.
Take charge of hiring, onboarding, and expanding the logistics team, ensuring a strong pipeline of skilled professionals.
Develop a customer-centric approach within the team by mentoring logistics personnel on client relationship management and service excellence.
Conduct bi-annual vendor evaluations, negotiate service rates, and ensure compliance with quality and performance standards.
Collaborate closely with the commercial team to identify business opportunities, secure bid invitations, and support RFQ submissions for logistics projects.
Requirements:
A Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or a related field.
At least 15 years of experience in marine logistics, freight forwarding, and offshore transportation.
Proven leadership capabilities, with experience managing teams of 10 or more professionals.
Strong expertise in vessel and air chartering, contract management, vendor negotiations, and handling OOG cargo operations.
Advanced knowledge of logistics systems, MS Office Suite, and project management tools such as MS Project.
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make strategic decisions in a fast-paced environment.
Willingness to travel within Singapore when required.
