Job Description:

The Senior Global Logistics Manager of Sales builds Supply Chain Solutions (SCS) Global Logistics and Distribution (GL&D) strategies and manages sales activities. He/She trains and coaches Contract Logistics & Distribution Sales Managers to pursue business prospects, prepare customer requests for information (RFIs) and requests for proposals (RFPs), and utilize internal UPS resources for meeting customer needs. This position manages and tracks customer proposal negotiations and consummations to determine areas for improvement and ensure customer needs are met. He/She conducts business research internally and externally to stay current with global industry trends and to identify potential customers. The Senior Global Logistics Manager of Sales manages Global Logistics Account Managers across the region including but not limited to Singapore, Japan, China and Taiwan.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develops SCS Sales distribution global strategies, Contract Logistics & Distribution sales prospect identification and manage GL&D Contract Negotiations.
  • Leads and develops Contract Logistics & Distribution Sales team to drive sales performance in Asia Pacific region and provide coaching and training.
  • Demonstrates an expert level of knowledge of UPS's product portfolios, customer facing technology solutions or business unit operations; applies knowledge of key aspects of UPS operations and structure to solve problems or identify opportunities; seeks opportunities to advise or educate others to effectively use product, service, and/or customer facing technology knowledge.
  • Identifies multiple business needs in complex situations (e.g., involving several organizations, competitors, etc.); gathers complex data, evaluates trends in data and integrates information from many sources to determine needs; creates solutions that address current and future needs.
  • Integrates industry, financial, and global trends into solutions for complex accounts; sets strategies based on anticipated industry, financial, and global trends; uses an in-depth understanding of customers’ functions, structures, and business models to create supply chain solutions.
  • Advises sales team on how to provide appropriate feedback and coaching to team members; inspires others to develop themselves and seek out continuous learning opportunities to support sales performance; recommends development activities and possible job rotations to help team members learn new skills and gain experience.
  • Serves as an expert on competitive strategies and customer decision criteria; identifies and articulates key implications from synthesis of competitive information; anticipates future competitors or likely moves by competitors, the impact on UPS, and recommends action plans to address the situation.
  • Demonstrates an expert level of understanding of business requirements or critical elements of a complex problem; provides comprehensive, integrated solutions to complex problems; develops best practices that may create new business opportunities.
  • Negotiates agreements in complex situations; anticipates objections and overcomes resistance; creates future negotiation processes or strategies; helps stakeholders understand the possible implications of decisions; consistently negotiates for successful outcomes or profitable deals.
  • Serves as an expert on supply chains across multiple organizations or industries; identifies solutions that impact the entire supply chain; designs solutions that enable improved management of current resources as well as plans that anticipate future needs; develops creative and unique supply chain solutions for complex accounts that can be used as a model for other organizations.

Job Requirements:

  • Possess Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or Logistics & Supply Chain. A Master's degree will be an added advantage.
  • Minimum 5 years’ Regional Contract Logistics sales experience at management capacity with a track record of revenue wins, preferable in multi-sector based solutions i.e. Healthcare, Retail, Hi-Technology, Aerospace & Industrial Engineering & Manufacturing.
  • Excellent leadership skill with minimum 3 years people management experience in driving sales team’s performance.
  • Excellent Supply Chain Solutions knowledge in warehousing, logistics distribution solutions, IT solutions platforms and applications i.e. Warehouse Management Systems (WMS)/ Transport Management Systems (TMS) including Supply Chain Visibility Tools etc.
  • Sound business acumen, project financial knowledge with good analytical skills and ability to associate with Contract Logistics solution components.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills with good understanding of customers’ perspective and ability to think win-win.
  • Express and Freight Solutions background is a plus.
  • Willingness to travel on a regular basis within international/region is expected.
