Position Overview
A dynamic finance team is seeking a Senior Manager to support the financial management, planning, and operations of large-scale projects. Reporting directly to the Assistant Director of Finance, with a dotted line to the Project Director, this role plays a key part in delivering financial oversight and strategy for complex programs.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent collaboration skills, strong financial and analytical acumen, meticulous attention to detail, sound business judgment, and the ability to engage with multiple stakeholders effectively. This position offers significant visibility and engagement with senior management.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Gain a deep understanding of the project and its framework to provide actionable financial and commercial insights that inform key decisions and enhancement strategies
  • Prepare monthly financial reports, including variance analyses (actuals versus budget versus forecast) for management review
  • Develop and present concise financial and analytical reports or decks to support stakeholder engagement and address ad hoc queries
  • Manage the finance team supporting the program’s financial operations
  • Oversee funding, cashflow reporting, and utilization requests, ensuring alignment with external stakeholder requirements
  • Take full financial ownership of the project, including profit and loss, cashflow management, and reserve reporting
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop annual budgets and forecasts, leveraging past trends and establishing key assumptions
  • Prepare and deliver analytical presentations that highlight potential risks or variances
  • Review program funding documents and partner with delivery, finance, and pricing teams to refine financial recovery and cost models
  • Identify opportunities to streamline financial management processes and implement improvements

Requirements

  • A degree in Accountancy or equivalent qualifications (e.g., ACCA), with a minimum of 8–10 years of relevant experience, preferably within audit or commercial finance roles
  • Proven experience in managing the financial aspects of large-scale projects, particularly in the IT or technical domain
  • Strong analytical skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage both internal and external audiences
  • Proficiency in advanced Excel functions, data analysis tools, and comfort working with large datasets
  • A proactive and results-driven approach, with the curiosity and initiative to delve deep into financial data for meaningful insights
  • Logical thinking, combined with a mindset that challenges processes to deliver value-added solutions
  • Highly motivated, resourceful, and able to work independently while contributing actively to team success
