Senior Finance Manager (Global FMCG Retail)

Job Description

Reporting to the Finance Director, the Senior Finance Manager will lead the financial operations of this global retail brand. This role demands a proactive finance leader with strong analytical skills, a strategic mindset, and the capability to drive financial performance throughout the organization. Proficiency in Japanese is a mandatory requirement.

Key Responsibilities

1. Lead the financial planning and analysis (FP&A) process, including budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
2. Prepare and present financial reports to senior management, providing insights to support strategic decision-making.
3. Oversee month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring accurate and timely financial statements.
4. Monitor financial performance and key business metrics, identifying opportunities for cost optimization and efficiency improvements.
5. Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.
6. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business initiatives and provide financial guidance.
7. Manage relationships with external auditors, tax advisors, and other financial stakeholders.
8. Drive continuous improvements in financial processes, systems, and reporting tools.

Key Requirements

1. Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or related field with professional certifications preferred.
2. Min. of 8 years of experience in finance, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
3. Proficiency in Japanese is required for this role to effectively communicate with Japanese stakeholders.
4. Experience and knowledge of the retail or FMCG industries is a plus.
5. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a proactive and hands-on approach.
6. Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
