The Role
The Finance Manager will oversee the Transactional Finance in Finance Accounting & Control (FA&C) Function. He/she is responsible for ensuring accurate reporting of financial information to all users of financial information in accordance with both local and DF accounting standards and policies. He/ she will oversee the preparation and submission of statutory financial statements and ensure compliance with local and international financial regulations.
This role involves managing audits, maintaining robust internal controls, and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting. He/she needs to analyze financial data to identify trends and variances and provide insights and recommendations to support strategic decision making. He/she will collaborate with other departments to ensure alignment between financial reporting and business operations. He/she also needs to collaborate with outsourced business partners and manage their deliverables and timeliness of financial reporting to Group.
Financial Accounting and Reporting:
- Ensure timely and accurate month end closing and prepare monthly reports including monthly financial statements, cash flow statements and management reporting
- Ensure compliance of financial records and controls with corporate statutory, and regulatory requirements
- Ensure timely preparation and submission of quarterly Singapore GST returns
- Ensure overall good maintenance of accounting books
- Monitoring in cash flow, credit control, and receivables management
- Work collaboratively with various internal parties across the organization to acquire or provide information needed for analysis, reporting, budgeting and forecasting
- Liaise with outsourced business partner to ensure their deliverables in terms of quality and timeliness of financial reporting process
- Participate with team in liaising with external auditor, tax agents, and external parties for all statutory and regulatory requirements to ensure compliance
- Lead process improvement and control initiatives that will help improve current processes, drive efficiency and productivity throughout the financial process
Team Management Responsibilities
- Responsible for the line management and professional development of direct reports
- Making sure all to assists team members in developing career roadmap. Help in identified the necessary development plan and have regular catch-up to ensure on time deliverables
- Support and encourage team members to build their skills and knowledge
Other Activities
- Provide support to country/regional/group level strategic initiatives as directed relevant functional owner
- Perform other duties and tasks, consistent with the skills and expertise, as required in non-routine circumstances
- Provide support on Company’s project especially on finance related process, including the project scoping, UAT and deliverable
- Other ad-hoc activities as required
About You
- Degree holder in Finance or Business discipline is a must
- 8 years relevant experience (in absence of formal finance qualifications) or equivalent role
- Previous retail experience in FMCG preferred but not a must
- Has work experience in a MNC or audit
- Has a good understanding IFRS and local GAAP
- Good understanding on Singapore taxation
- Has experience in leading a team
- Previous working experience in managing full set of books
- Able to work with different stakeholders
- Exposure to ERP system such as Oracle and SAP FICO
