Job description

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to contribute to excellence in financial reporting, tax compliance, and strategic transformation initiatives. Reporting to a team lead, this role will play a critical role in ensuring regulatory compliance, optimizing tax strategies, and assisting with process improvements to support the company's growth objectives.

Responsibilities:

1. Financial Reporting:

  • Participate in the preparation, review and analysis of Group and its subsidiaries’ financial statements in compliance with GAAP and regulatory requirements, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and transparency.
  • Consolidate monthly accounts for the Group and review the subsidiaries’ monthly accounts.
  • Manage monthly and quarterly reporting to our shareholders and internal stakeholders, including addressing ad-hoc reporting and queries.
  • Manage annual financial audit of the Group and its subsidiaries.
  • Assess technical accounting issues for the Group and align accounting treatment with the auditors.

2. Tax Compliance:

  • Participate in the company's tax planning and compliance efforts, working closely with external tax advisors to optimize tax strategies, minimize tax liabilities, maintain transfer pricing documentation and ensure compliance with local and international tax laws.
  • Review value added tax reporting for the Group and its subsidiaries.
  • Participate in the preparation and review of annual corporate tax filing for the Group and its subsidiaries.

3. Risk Management:

Assess financial reporting and tax-related risks, assist in developing and implementing controls and procedures to mitigate risks and safeguard the company's financial assets.

4. Process Improvement and Transformation Initiatives:

Assist with improvement projects/transformation initiatives to optimize financial reporting and tax compliance processes, implement best practices and leverage technology solutions to enhance efficiency, data analytics capabilities and improve decision making across the organization.

5. Stakeholder Engagement:

Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sub-finance teams and business units, to communicate financial insights, tax implications, and ensure successful execution of key initiatives.

6. Continuous Learning:

Stay abreast of changes in accounting standards, tax regulations, and industry best practices, contributing to the company remaining compliant and strategically positioned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial reporting and tax compliance, with a strong understanding of GAAP, tax laws, and regulations.
  • Proficiency and experience in executing process improvement initiatives and implementing financial reporting and tax-related systems or tools.
  • Proficiency in financial modeling, data analysis, and reporting software (e.g., ERP systems, BI tools).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
  • Demonstrates analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Attention to detail and strong time and deadline management.
  • Strong team player with a CAN-DO attitude.
