Senior Finance Executive

As a Senior Finance Executive, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the union's financial operations, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and best practices. This is a key leadership role that requires strong financial acumen, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to the values of the trade union movement.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage all financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and investments. Able to do full set of accounts.
• Develop and implement sound financial policies and procedures.
• Prepare and present financial reports to the Executive Committee and members.
• Oversee the annual audit process.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations and legislation.
• Manage the finance team.
• Provide financial analysis and recommendations to support strategic decision-making.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure effective financial management.
• Manage relationships with banks, auditors, and other financial service providers.
• Contribute to the development of the union's long-term financial strategy.
  

Essential Skills and Experience:

• Qualified Accountant (e.g., CPA, ACCA, CA) or equivalent.
• Proven experience in a finance management role, preferably within a not-for-profit or membership-based organization.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and internal controls.
• Experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong commitment to the values and objectives of the trade union movement.
• Experience with relevant accounting software.
• Experience with payroll management.
• Knowledge of relevant employment law and regulations.
• Experience in managing investments.
