We provide essential wellness and wellbeing support, pastoral care, and cultivate strong alumni relations while spearheading development and fundraising efforts for the school.
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated individual to join our team as a Senior Executive focusing on Student Support and Student Life. Join us in making a significant impact on the student journey and contributing to a thriving university community.
Responsibilities:
Responsibility Area 1: Case Management and Student Wellbeing
- Provide advice and support to students facing emotional difficulties, ensuring thorough follow-up with students on our mentoring/care list by setting up meetings, maintaining regular contact, and checking on their well-being.
- Facilitate connections between students and appropriate support services within and outside of NUS, such as University Counselling Services and hospitals, to ensure timely assistance.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders on student support and wellbeing for effective service delivery, including working with student leaders/groups on mental health awareness initiatives.
- Assist the administration division in handling student and staff-related incidents and crises, ensuring appropriate actions in emergencies affecting students.
- Assess and improve the quality of student advice and wellbeing services through data gathering and research.
- Organise student life activities that promote well-being to enhance student wellness.
Responsibility Area 2: Student Engagement and Enhancement
- Create an enriching student experience in collaboration with relevant stakeholders.
- Develop and implement initiatives to integrate international students into local student communities, promoting cultural exchange and inclusivity.
- Plan activities and programs for graduate students to foster a sense of belonging and ownership within the school community.
- Strengthen efforts to develop a sense of belonging and ownership of the school, including innovative ways for students to stay connected post-graduation.
Other Duties:
- Support various events organized by the Student Life Office and the school.
- Participate in special projects as assigned by senior leadership.
Qualifications:
- Recognized University Degree: Preferably in Social Work, Psychology, or related fields.
- Experience: At least 3 years of experience in student guidance and wellness support, including managing individuals in crisis.
- Youth Engagement: Proven track record of engaging university-age youths effectively.
- Organizational Skills: Strong organizational, planning, and project management abilities.
- Teamwork and Multitasking: Capacity to work effectively in a team and manage multiple priorities.
- Interpersonal and Communication Skills: Excellent skills for interacting with and understanding diverse stakeholders.
- Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 Suite, versatile with social media.
- Proactiveness and Initiative: Ability to take initiative and act proactively in addressing student needs and enhancing support services.
- Proficiency in Mandarin: Able to communicate with next-of-kin of international students from China; versatility with social media; and the ability to create posters and infographics.
- Employment Type: An initial 2 year's employment contract will be offered, subject to renewal.
