Job description

1. Job Summary

The job holder provides support on data analytics and research to the Senior Manager/Manager (Data Analytics) and to grow an evidence-based and data-driven planning culture in MENDAKI.

2. Key Responsibility Areas

  1. Data and Research Areas
    1. Assist the Senior Manager/Manager (data analytics) in the development of data analysis and insights required to gain an in-depth understanding of education, youth, and family-related issues and concerns affecting the Malay/Muslim community.
    2. Conduct environmental scanning and trend analysis in the areas that have an impact on the organisation’s work plan and/or Malay/Muslim community.
    3. Manage data partnerships between ministries and partners.
    4. Deliver on organisational data profiling, mapping, and analysis, such as a data dictionary for the Mendaki system.
  2. Stakeholder Management (Internal and External)
    1. Assist the HOD and manager on engagements and strengthen partnerships with key stakeholders such as ministries, national agencies, and Institutes of Higher Learning (IHLs), and internally with MENDAKI teams.
    2. Contribute to the framework of collaboration with partners/stakeholders in data management and information sharing.
    3. Digest and communicate MENDAKI’s analytics and research findings and trends to Management and other stakeholders.
  3. Research, Data, and Programme Evaluation Support
    1. Support team research, analysis, and evaluation requirements.
    2. Manage organisational data profiling, mapping, and analysis.
  4. Other Duties
    1. Provide executive support for Management Meetings/Conferences.
    2. Provide logistical and administrative support in relation to RPEO’s publications and/or events.
    3. Provide editorial support in relation to RPEO’s publications, including summarising content and editing articles.
    4. Deliverables of Research & Programme Evaluation Office work plan.
    5. New projects and initiatives to build the team’s contents and capacity.

3. Requirements

  • Degree in Psychology / Behavioral Sciences / Statistics, or any related discipline from a recognised institution.
  • Possesses an analytical mind with a strong ability to sense-make of large amounts of data, translating data strategies to operational and tangible results.
  • Exposure to Data Analysis and Research Methods.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and advanced formulas with working knowledge of Macro/VBA coding.
  • 2 to 3 years of working experience with Business Intelligence tools, preferably MS PowerBI, SPSS modeller, and Python.
  • Strong writing skills.
  • Resourceful, able to work independently and with teams.
  • Organised with good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Creative problem solving, results-driven, and meticulous.
