Job description

The Student Affairs Office (SAO) aims to fulfil its mission of “striving with partners to co-create and co-own a meaningful and enriching student life experience” via a two-pronged approach:

  • Promoting students’ personal growth through curricular activities and learning, which span across a wide spectrum of student-led activities, leadership development initiatives, residential hall programmes, inclusion and integration efforts, community engagement initiatives and sports.
  • Facilitating meaningful engagement among key stakeholders within and outside of the NTU community.

Job Responsibility:

Club and Varsity Sports and Events Administrative Support

  • Evaluate the relevance, inclusiveness, and effectiveness of clubs’ activities and events, and provide coaching to student leaders on program implementation.
  • Provide technical, operational and logistical support to varsity sports teams and major sports events, activities, workshops, and programmes.
  • Assess potential risks associated with activities, including the possible consequences for students' learning experiences, and provide appropriate advice.
  • Coordinate facility and equipment request bookings with the Sports Recreational Centre and Office of Campus Housing for teams’ trainings and competitions held on campus.
  • Support and prepare the updating and posting of publicity and information content on the Student Sports’ website and social media accounts (i.e., Telegram, Instagram, Facebook).
  • Assist the Senior Sports Officer in the planning and implementation of Sports for All programmes, athletes’ and student leaders’ development workshops, and briefings.

General Office Administrative Support

  • Provide administrative support for the Student Sports Section; serve as the second coverer for a full suite of admin functions, e.g., hiring of Part-Time Instructors, processing of grants, claims, donations, and sponsorship to student sports organisations.
  • Manage vendors for the procurement of goods, services, and equipment for the office, varsity sports teams, and student events, in accordance with University guidelines.
  • Assist in compiling statistics and preparation of relevant reports for submission to university administration and MOE, where applicable.
  • Coordinate and collate data on NTU-wide sports participation and/or athletes’ competition records.
  • Manage the administration and operations of the Work Study Scheme (WSS) to improve NTU students’ preparedness for the workforce.
  • Support the Student Sports Section in IT-related matters.
  • Support counter duties as required at Wave.

Ad hoc projects as assigned by supervisors

  • Represent Student Sports in assigned SAO sub-committees.

Job Requirements:

  • Good Diploma with 2 to 4 years of work experience, preferably in sports science or sports management related discipline; or
  • A recognized Bachelor Degree in sports management or sports science related disciplines; or
  • Prior working experience in the office of sports administration in higher education, SportSG, or other relevant sport industry will have added advantage.
