Senior Executive/ Executive, Bed Management Unit (BMU)

Job Description

You will be a project executive for the Bed Management Unit (BMU) in Singapore’s largest tertiary hospital. You will collaborate with Medical, Surgical, Radiological and Nursing departments to advocate for, develop and implement Short Stay Ward (SSW) models of care. You will also support the BMU’s preparations for the new SGH Elective Care Centre Building (ECC) which is expected to open within the next 5 years. You will also be involved in the Planning, Coordination and Management of a team of staff to do Bed Assignment for patients in the ECC.

Your duties will include, but are not limited to the following:

• Prepare and analyse performance data and reports including SSW utilisation rates and initiate recommendations to improve the departments’ KPIs
• Collaborate with stakeholders to transform, design and develop innovative SSW workflows to enhance patient care, reduce wait times and improve overall operational efficiency
• Conduct a holistic assessment & mapping of Elective/SSW processes in ECC with all stakeholders for a smooth implementation of patient bed journey including Advance Bed Planning in ECC
• Manage a team of BMU staff in providing quality Bed Management Services to ECC on a daily basis
• Develop the competency and career aspirations of the team members and plan their development
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to implement new initiatives or services for the best patient care and experience
• Provide secretariat support for meetings and coordinate events organised by the Division/Dept

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in general discipline preferably with 2 years healthcare and/or staff management experience.
• Entry Level candidates will be considered for this position.
• Strong interpersonal, analytical, planning and organizational skills.
• Able to exhibit initiative, demonstrate an ability to work independently, and manifest good team-spirit qualities.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
