Job description

You will assist the Fire Safety Manager in implementing, maintaining, and continuously monitoring fire safety measures to protect staff, patients, visitors and assets within the hospital premises. You will also assist in creating a safe environment by identifying fire risks, developing fire safety policies and procedures, coordinating fire prevention, detection and response activities, including promoting fire safety awareness through training and education. You will play an active role in premises remodelling, ensuring that all modifications comply with fire safety regulations and maintain optimal safety standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Report to Manager (CPO) on the development and progress as well as operational readiness of the hospital’s plans including Emergency Response Plan (ERP), Emergency Evacuation Plan (EEP), In-Place Protection Plan (IPP) and Arson Prevention Plan (APP)
  • Apply for, coordinate, and facilitate the hospital’s Annual Fire Safety Certification as regulated by SCDF
  • Apply for, coordinate, and facilitate storage of Petroleum and Flammable Materials as regulated by SCDF
  • Ensure Operational readiness of the Company Emergency Response Team (CERT)
  • Provide Fire Safety Oversight in Premises Remodelling (RM)
  • Ensure RM designs incorporate required safety features and compliance with current fire codes and regulations
  • Conduct fire risk assessments for proposed changes and identify potential new hazards introduced by RM
  • Conduct training and awareness to ensure that staff are familiar with the evacuation procedures
  • Conduct and evaluate table-top exercises within the premises, and identify areas of improvement
  • Provide secretariat support to variation hospital meetings (e.g. Fire Steering Committee Meeting), including coordinating regular meetings with committee members, agenda and slides preparation, minutes taking and papers dissemination
  • Support the operations of the CGH Operations Centre (CGHOC) during peacetime in the areas of surveillance of hospital operations, incident reporting and management, and collation of data for effective resource management
  • Any other duties assigned from time to time

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Health Care Management, Administration or any relevant discipline
  • Valid Fire Safety Management License
  • Minimum 2 years of working experience, preferably in healthcare or social service-related industry
  • Good knowledge of regulatory standards
  • Good interpersonal & communication skills (both written and verbal)
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision
