About Department and Purpose of the Position

The National University Cancer Institute, Singapore (NCIS) is a national specialist centre under the National University Health System (NUHS). It is the only public cancer centre in Singapore treating both paediatric and adult cancers in one facility.

We are seeking an outstanding and highly motivated Manager/Senior Manager to be part of our incredible team in NCIS Ops & Admin (Strategy Execution & Budget Planning), supporting NCIS in the deliveries of FY30 work plan. The incumbent will be responsible for instituting a culture of accountability, planning, overseeing and leading projects from ideation through to delivery, ensuring that resources are allocated optimally, and that every project meets its objectives within the set timelines.

Key Responsibilities

Program Administration

  • Perform an administrator role in the Cancer program ecosystem (includes clinical, research, support, and community components).
  • Responsibilities encompass a wide range of operational, budgeting, and strategic tasks.
  • This includes reviewing Cancer Program workplans, budgeting, resource planning, and coordinating with internal and external stakeholders on project funding, compliance, and administration matters.
  • Supports case management functions.
  • Any other projects/ tasks as assigned by dept.

Communication & Reporting

  • Internal Communication: Facilitate effective communication within the cancer program and across the broader organization with multi-disciplinary teams including organizing meetings, preparing presentation slides and meeting minutes, and compiling data for reporting.
  • Reporting to Leadership: Regularly report on the program’s initiatives, changes, and performance metrics to all relevant stakeholders.
  • Coordination Across Departments: Supports the alignment with the network of interconnected entities, resources, and stakeholders that work together to contribute to the program's effectiveness.

Partnerships & Collaborations

  • Acts as liaison to relevant industry partners and internal stakeholders to garner support for new initiatives that support the goals of the programme.

Fund Utilisation

  • Manage the administration of the cancer program's funding, ensuring sustainability and efficient use of resources.
  • Assist in the review of completeness of program proposals or plans to define time frame, procedures for accomplishing program, staffing requirements and allotment of available resources to various phases of program.
  • Coordinates projects/activities with the internal stakeholders to ensure program progresses on schedule and within prescribed budget, including facilitating the work/communication across different departments.
  • Monitor funded projects to track milestone fulfilment and identify opportunities for further development.

Key Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business management, finance, or any other similar discipline.
  • A minimum of 3 years of working experience, and 2 years in the capacity of leading projects/services/programs/functions in a Healthcare, Biomedical, Pharmaceutical environment.
  • Resourceful, agile, and adaptable with strong problem-solving skills to work under a rapidly evolving healthcare landscape.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
  • Exhibit professionalism by demonstrating personal accountability, effective work habits, empathy, and teamwork.
  • Highly organized individual with the ability to exercise good judgement in diverse situations and balance multiple priorities, without sacrificing quality and meet tight deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and assume additional responsibilities, as required.
